FFX P-180 Just Dropped On Marketlace

Featured Replies

If this is available for rent or 'try before you buy' when the Marketplace is eventually launched I will give it a spin. Otherwise, no.

Clearly, for the price we can't expect much more.... I would just like to see a high fidelity business jet in MFS, they are my favorite aircraft.

You don't have/like the Flysimware Lear?

I would too.  Though the C700 Longitude is very very good, maybe the most in depth we have so far for msfs as far as bizjets go.  I'm curious how the Just Flight Lear 45 will be.

Just completed my first flight with the P-180. I would say it definitely has the potential to be my favorite turboprop in the sim. Sounds are excellent, all the bells and whistles in the cockpit seem to be working along with the subtle things like the hydraulic pump. Engine sounds are outstanding too, especially the beta range. System wise it's quite a simple aircraft in itself, but FFX seems to have modeled most things. No circuit breakers or failures, but all the day-to-day stuff is there. Turboprop simulation is good, ITT rises with altitude and the engines can be damaged if mishandled. Avionics is the default Proline 21 system with some tweaks you will find in the real aircraft.

Overall it's definitely a level above Carenado, but maybe a level below what Black Square offers with their aircraft in terms of systems. One of my main complaints is the lack of a payload editor in the EFB. You have to set your fuel and payload with the default W&B system which seems a little strange with a perfectly good EFB sitting there. I'd say the price is pretty good for what you get and it's definitely worth what you pay in my opinion.

Too bad there is info for 2024.

They did a preview stream a couple days ago. They said once the 2024 Marketplace launches it will probably take a couple weeks for a 2024 version to launch.

FWIW.  On the FFX discord they are stating that MS is supposed to have provisioned it to appear as available to enable for streaming in 2024.  FFX says MS turned that on last night but they are experiencing difficulties making it happen and MS is trying to trouble shoot / resolve.

But you still can only buy it in 2020 marketplace?

Yeah the idea is if you buy it in 2020 it will show up in 2024. Something I’m trying out myself.

Disclaimer I'm a tester for this aircraft.

I thought the same even while testing - meh it's a weird looking plane not sure I'll fly it much aside from testing which I told FFX I'd do.

But FFX really upgraded it from the first iteration.  The sounds are done by Boris.  Nuff said there.  The flight model is very good and the little oddities are modeled like the relatively poor brakes, dropping onto the runway if you're not landing correctly etc.  There aren't many Pro Line 21 aircraft so this fills a nice void.  It's very fast for a turboprop too.  Additionally the visuals are top notch.  From the very first version I tested long ago to the release - is night and day.  It's a really well done addon for a very reasonable price.

Purchased the P180 yesterday and took it on a maiden flight around the southern tip of Africa. I did not read the manual but set it up for TO like any other turbo prop AC. I was very impressed with the handling and features it has. It's only for 2020 now, so I had to go back to the long loading time of 2020. I'm glad I'd made the purchase of this wonderful plane. Just can't wait to get it in the 2024 sim.

Yes.  And indeed you are correct AFAIK.

I watched a YouTube review of this aircraft over the weekend and the reviewer went on to talk about it's very distinctive engine sound, so here I am at work and hear an aircraft flying high above the clouds and thought "that sounds a bit....different"; yep it's a P180 according to FlightRadar!

Might have to invest in this one day.
