The exact same checklists and flows one can use in MSFS Flight Simulator.  I don't have a problem with the word game, only when someone insists MSFS is not a simulator, which it clearly is.

Well, there is also Eurotruck-SIMULATOR, Farming SIMULATOR, etc.

Yes typical gamers do that because they envy others. So they like to downplay it. I don‘t go play it, I go fly with it.

I am using sims sometimes to train for my real flights. That hurts the feeling of those not having that experience. Hence the need to force them into „gamers“.

A simple check using a KI-tool will explaim why flight-simulators on PC are quite unique in the category of „video-games“ and sets them apart. The typical gamers lacking skills or not willing to learn how to use a sim will probably always feel inferior.

The OP needed the video he linked on, to CONVINCE himself that MSFS is more then just a game

"Title: This convinced me that MSFS is more than just a game.

That stated, I have the impression, TILL he saw that video he wasn´t sure if MSFS is a game or a simulator. 😉

Now he is.....

And I think he think it´s still a game but wanted to be using a sim.

LoL

Actually an own topic for a discussion if it is a game or sim.....that is a bit popcorn to me.....or is it popped mais.......damm

So, I leave it for now....

And to be sure....

Even if I make a laugh out of this.....I do respect EVERYBODIES impressions and feelings.

Enjoy flying.....you all....

See ya

I think the sim/game distinction doesn't matter so much and goes way back. Say I find an old computer and a box of floppy disks in a basement. I dust it off, plug it in, and voila, it works! I find a flight simulator amongst the disks. I try some aircraft carrier landings in a 747 and feel like I'm playing a game. I hop into a Cessna, set the visibility to 1/4 mile, practice shooting some ILS approaches with the squiggly little needles. Also some IFR cross country's, noticing the needle sensitivity increases as I get closer to the VOR. Also noticing the DME reads about a mile when I'm directly overhead, since I am about a mile overhead. I try out all sorts of different winds and take note of things like heading and track, and I feel it's a useful training tool, a simulator, and it's really not bad for being so old.

Yes, but "could" in this context makes no sense whatsoever. A bit like "what do you got?"

Perhaps you should ask the KI-tool if it need your help? And at the same time you can also ask it what people with complexes should do to overcome their complexes in life😅

You mean like people with huge ego's who think others envy them?  I know what to do with people like that, I've encountered enough of them...

Ah yes. For me it's the various "could of / should of /would of" stuff. It should be "could have" etc and no doubt arises from the pronunciation of the written abbreviation "could've".  I know grammar, spelling, usage etc changes over time, but even so, this just strikes me as lazy and word not allowed. Athough I'm probably not allowed to say that.

Edited to add - not talking about non-native English speakers here, but native speakers should know better. And apparently I wasn't allowed to say that (ryhmes with "Cupid"!

Again: the differences beetween classical video-games and flight-simulators on PC's are facts and can be checked by yourself by simply asking a KI-tool what those differences are and why they stand out. Not sure why that makes you think someone pointing out to that has a huge ego. I think some are ultra-sensitive for whatever reason...

I think you should read the rest of what you wrote and stop with the KI-tool

Gamers envy others?

You using the sim to train for your real flights hurts others feelings?

Sure, KI-tool

That was just my guess to understand why some have such huge difficulties to call a flight-simulator for what it is, although if it's technically in the category of "video-games". I don't see any other reason but perhaps you have an idea?
