February 13, 20251 yr I'm reasonably experienced on the A320 and have been trying to carry out autolands in FS2024 with the Fly By Wire in India (by virtue of all the smog meaning visibility is very low). I get everything set up, as far as I know correctly. The STAR, landing runway input into the MCDU, destination data input into the MCDU. I have the correct QNH set, speed to managed, approach and everything configured nicely. But the aircraft always finds a way of being slightly off centre, slightly too high, just not in a good spot for an autoland. I see LAND on the PFD indicating everything is set up okay on short finals. Is my problem here my configuration, is it the FBW or is it MSFS 2024? I seem to be fine with autolands in the PMDG 737, but of course that's not working for 2024 yet. Any light that can be shed, much appreciated. I've tried autolanding at Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Patna, all with slightly off results which called for last minute manual intervention and a somewhat rubbish landing, each and every time.
February 13, 20251 yr Are you setting up the approach stage values correctly in the MCDU? Sounds like maybe the wind components aren't correct <?>. Try with a "Clear Skies" weather theme and make sure the wind speed is set to zero (it often doesn't actually zero it). That'll at least tell you whether it's the wind that's somehow not being compensated for (or not!). I'm no expert, but have flown the FBW 320 a lot. I've heard that sometimes ILS beacons aren't lined up exactly with the runways (in RL) ... which I always find odd, as it defeats the point of autoland <??>.
