(not) downloading a new version ...

I still see a lot of users downloading a new PSXT version from my site while there is a faster way available already for say half a year ...

In your PSXT installation folder you will find the file "install_new_version.exe" that has been downloaded for you by PSXT. You only have to run it.

In version 10.7.1. it will no longer ask for your language preference and it will not ask you to accept the EULA, because you have done that already when you first downloaded PSXT from my site. So then an update will go even faster!

Long time user here.... Would be 'cool' to have a button in the UI that changes to red, if a new version is available and upon pressing said button 'install_new_version.exe' will run....

Would be cool indeed.

However, that is technically speaking not possible. PSXT is a WINAPI application, it cannot install itself while it is still running.  Something that would have been easier if it was a .NET application.

i updated to 10.7.1 for msfs2020 i dont see “install_new_version.exe” on my psxt file. plus how do i fix airlines that are not read at kjfk,plus united reaginal jet come up instead of delta on one of the reginal jets.

Wel, well, how much can you ask in one sentence?! 😉 

After updating from my web site, you do not see a "install_new_version.exe". It is there at the moment PSXT stops and you get that red message about a new version.  And if not, check the Log.txt about any message about a downloading or unzipping problem, but that is not very likely.

Other questions in a new thread please and supply enough info.
