February 24, 20251 yr An important point is whether you have a Navigraph subscription and if it is important for you to have the database updated, to choose between PMS and TDS.

Please explain. Is a Navigraph subscription necessary for one of them? eg Simbrief flight planning will work without a subscription using an outdated database but will both PMS and TDS work with an outdated database? To update the TDS Navdata you need a Navigraph subscription. With the PMS you don't need it because it uses the sim's navdata (if you don't own a Navigraph subscription) which is updated every month. It also works in sync MSFS 2024 EFB. The TDS unit will work just fine with the supplied 2023 navdata. I do not have a Navigraph subscription.. Bert

Hi Bert, does that navdata cover all the world or just the US? February 24, 20251 yr That is why it is important to value the importance of having updated data. Is it important for you to have updated data? If it is important and you don't want to pay a Navigraph subscription, buy PMS if you have a Navigraph TDS, if it is not important for you, then you can do whatever you want. PMS has a free reduced version which is enough for many less demanding users.
February 25, 20251 yr Author Thanks to each and all. I didn't know that the sim's navdata is updated every month (re "because it uses the sim's navdata" as per Alvega) . Surely not as then there would be no need for a Navigraph subscription and loss of income for them? Where in the sim is the navigraph data stored? Or is it only with 2014? re the latest Garmin trainer navdata. I am unaware of the Garmin trainer. Is it 2024 only?
