April 6, 20251 yr This is a bizarre thread. Whoever started the GNS530 argument, you need to take into consideration that there are at least TWO UNS-1 FMS systems - one developed by JustFlight and the other by Working Title (which is default in MSFS2024)... so, no GNS530 necessary. The other part is people complimenting Majestic for releasing a PAID EFB. This is kinda like them releasing a visual upgrade to the model that was a PAID upgrade. This just isn't good enough in 2025. Support and improvements to the current variant should be part of support in the lifetime of the product, not PAID updates. EFB is nowadays a necessity in most aircraft. Charging for it is ludicrous. These guys are dead stuck in P3D world and going above and beyond burying themselves as a dev in the entertainment flight sim market. That's all I have to say about it. I own the Pro version and would never pay for a "visual" upgrade or a $20 EFB. Ridiculous. Do better.

Why is charging for additional work performed "ludicrous"? Most software engineering for retail is subscription, without it, they wouldn't continue ... not many people are willing to work for nothing, are you? Edited April 6, 20251 yr by CO2Neutral

Please show me another aircraft developer that is charging for an EFB. Or for visual improvements to the model. I can't think of a single one! Additional variants? Sure. But no one does this. People need to stop justifying bad business model - they are milking what little is left of the P3D market because they have nothing else to sell, so they are nickel and diming people. I run a business, so I am certainly no stranger to a sustainable strategy.

I'd think both are work and thus money spent for the developer. Believe it or not, business models vary A LOT based on the type of business, tangible products, services, software, etc. etc. they don’t use the same business model. You are wrong, plenty of developers charge for extra work. Orbx, Aerosoft, Fly Tampa, Carenado, and others … extra work is extra work … you don’t acknowledge it’s extra work? Was the EFB listed in the original product? No, it wasn’t. Were PBR updates listed in the original product? No they weren’t.
April 8, 20251 yr cmon @CO2Neutral His point is easy to understand. It's very cmon that things like EFB's are later added at no charge as good EFB's have basically become a table stakes item that is now expected in 2025 sim planes. For better or worse. I personally don't mind paying extra for addons and new features that are meaningful to me. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
