FSimStudios Nuuk International Airport now Available!

We know we have been very quiet recently… this is one of the reasons.

NUUK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, GREENLAND NOW AVAILABLE FOR MSFS2020 AND MSFS2024! 🇬🇱🇬🇱

A few weeks ago, part of the FSimStudios team embarked on a research expedition across a number of airports. This expedition would result in the team getting stuck in Nuuk for several days due to inclement weather. As a result of this experience, and with the incredible cooperation from Air Greenland, we are happy to announce that we have been quietly working on a fully up-to-date, ultra-detailed rendition of Nuuk Airport, as February 2025, based on extensive in-person surveys.

Nuuk is among the most recently inaugurated international airports - a brand-new terminal and new 2200m runway were just inaugurated in Late November, 2024. Nuuk serves now as base of the A330NEO and Dash 8 Fleet of Air Greenland, and has scheduled connections with Canada, Iceland and Denmark. Direct flights from Newark, as well as more routes with Europe, are set to open as soon as Summer 2025. Additionally, BGGH is known for its stunning approaches over the Fjords and the capital city - which has been enhanced with various custom-made POIs, including HHE Hotel, where the team took refuge during the storm. Also known, perhaps more infamously, for its challenging and changing weather conditions, resulting in heavy crosswinds, icing and low visibility.

Nuuk is available RIGHT NOW!

I see that you normally develop Canadian airports (which are outside my normal flying area of Europe). However, I might be interested in this one.....assuming that the OSM data around the Nuuk area is a lot better than that near Kangerlussuaq. I purchased that airport last year, and then realised that the resolution and accuracy of the coastline and lakes around the airport is extremely poor. That is a major factor for me, so I will need to check that out (in MSFS 2020) before making a final decision.

I wonder if AIG have updated the Air Greenland flight plans yet? I would (of course) want to see the Air Greenland A330-800 NEO flying to this airport, rather than Kangerlussuaq!

the AIG Air Greenland flightplan is currently still for Summer 2024. I imagine the next update will be Summer 2025

So pleased to see this. I followed the development of Nuuk airport over the last three years on the tower webcam, and it's been hugely interesting to watch. I even caught the maiden landing of Air Greenland's A330Neo OY-GKN 'Tuukkaq' on the new extended runway. Greenland's been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons, but I'll definitely get this. All we need now is a Dash 8-200 to go with it.

V1.1.0 now available at FSimStudios.com and Contrail. Coming to other distributors in a few hours.

Changelog is lengthy - covering from new POIs to many bug fixes and accuracy improvements. We are committed to creating the best Nuuk out there ;)

I noticed 2 other developers released Nuuk as well this past week, on simmarket at least... how strange...

Competition is wild these days 😉

Will this come to the 2024 marketplace once that’s launched?

Love flying to places like this, and was curious to visit Nuuk ever since seeing its completion film.

I've installed Nuuk in MSFS2020 using the Contrail app.  Can I just use Add On Linker to bring it into MSFS2024, or do I need to use the Contrail app again ?

I think there is a specific 2024 version. At least that's what I got via ORBX.

Thanks for the info. I can't see such an option in the Contrail app. I wonder if I have to uninstall first, then reinstall and point it at MSFS2024.
