  • I'm still very disappointed they seem to be placing the 737-800 on the back burner. It is the most flown aircraft when I look at aircraft tracking sites next to the a320.

  • They said back in December it would be a free update, has nothing to do with the A350.

  • Especially given that it’s mostly working already in 2024 as long as you start on the runway.  Should be focusing on a quick compatibility update before reinventing the 737.

That's excellent the 2020 customers get it automatically and same with FS2Crew. I'm ready.

"Our existing MSFS2020 customers who own the 777 will get the 777 in MSFS2024 as part of their original purchase".

Only reason they're doing this due to the A350. But good to see. Loving the A350.

So.. Jump on the bandwagon and slap a quick fix on the plane to get it 'working' in 2024? PMDG practically invented accurate cold and dark /failure system behaviour you're asking them to sell out their integrity entirely?

They've certainly lowered their standards a little for the Asobo sims but I can't see them ever sinking as low as you suggest.

My guess is they have made their quota $$$ on the line up of the 737 series and will get back to it when time permits. They are "All In" on releasing new products in which I see nothing wrong with that, but in the sake of 737 lovers being neglected on new updates. It is what it is I guess but in reality updates don't bring them new income at all.

Russell,

are you actually implying that for a company to produce an aircraft model that can be "ctrl-e"d as well as a full cold and dark start is lacking in integrity? That seems just a teensy bit elitist if you are indeed saying that. I would happily pay PMDG prices for a beautifully made model but only if I can fly it my way. I won't pay a single penny for any aircraft that insists I study some detailed manual just to get it in the air, or indeed get the engines running. And I doubt I'm the only person on the planet that feels that way (although I may be the only one posting on avsim that way <grin>)

No reason the same aircraft can't be made to please us both.

I think this is correct. They'll get round to the 737 as their reputation depends on it but the big income stream at the moment is the 777.

I'm very pleased to see the DC6 up there too.

I think you’re misunderstanding Russell’s point. The issue isn’t about whether an aircraft should support both cold-and-dark and “Ctrl+E” starts, it’s about whether PMDG should rush out a quick fix for compatibility rather than maintaining their usual standards. The concern is about cutting corners, not accessibility.

PMDG sounds like a product you  should not invest in but that is my opinion. They are all for realism.

Don't have a problem with realism as long as it's not to the exclusion of a simple approach as well. I have the DC6, and the 737-600 and 700 and will get the 777-200 when it lands for 2024, as long as it supports hot-start or EFB controlled aircraft states. Meanwhile, I can use the Captain Sim version in 2020 if I want to. But I'd much prefer to have the better model from PMDG.
