Disagree. Working in global business comms I’ve heard it said many times by native English speakers that French colleagues are unenthusiastic. Also Japanese, Scandinavian, Indian etc. etc. etc. Sure,

  • What I have learned in life is that there are people you will never be able to satisfy. Whatever Joerg, Seb or Martial do or say, it's never enough because they forgot to mention this or that or they

I would like to see all three replaced with some younger, high energy native English speaking people.

Why does Martial continue to work at Asobo? If anyone clearly hates their job, it’s him. Written all over his face and his body language.

Gotta feel sorry for the devs; it’s not enough that they give up their free time at unsociable hours to face what they know will be (at least some) uncomfortable questions on a global platform in their second (or third?) language, no, they also have to be judged on how photogenic and thigh-slappingly ‘can-do!’ they’re coming across.

Martial’s demeanour is at least partially cultural, French expression often perceived as blasé to English speakers (guess where that word blasé comes from!). That he’s not a young, blonde Texan shouldn’t be held against him.

Wake Turbulence will now be modeled for multiplayer aircraft and injected traffic.

I wasn’t aware wake turbulence was dialed in at all yet. Is it in for user planes?

I know lots of French people and you can not blame the culture for this man’s demeanour. He just comes across like he simply can not be ars*d

Disagree. Working in global business comms I’ve heard it said many times by native English speakers that French colleagues are unenthusiastic. Also Japanese, Scandinavian, Indian etc. etc. etc. Sure, it’s sometimes individually true, but the list of cultural expression that English speakers misjudge is long.

Edit: and it’s endlessly irritating to hear people who can’t speak other languages criticize non-native speakers for not communicating in a style comfortable for them. (Of course, you may be right and he may not actually like his job, and you may speak other languages, but generally…..)

ATC? AI? Long in the tooth now…

I'm content with what is there and it seems to get better daily.

3rd party ATC / AI tools exist so if you must indulge do so but my machine defiantly couldn't handle that kind of load.

Show some respect and leave the Asobo folks alone!  Sheesh!!!!

I own a house in France and live there some months of the year. I kinda get how to get the French people, especially when I speak a little too. This guy looks bored.

I also see absolutely nothing wrong with how he fielded those questions. The guy literally got up and got the answer to a question from the team and seemed very positive when Jana thanked him. I honestly feel bad for the guy and I hope he doesn't see this thread.

Daily? I just be missing something? It hasn’t got any better in almost 6 years. In fact it even regressed.

Definitely*. And third party AI tools don’t yet exist for MS2024 in any sort of working state, sure you can use the models, but you have to use them with the rubbish built in traffic. Kinda defeats half of the point.

Yeah, I think people forget about how much effort it took by 3rd party devs, both free and paid, to get 2020 where it is. And it didn’t happen overnight.  I appreciate what MS/Asobo are doing. Yes, I too get frustrated at times, but I appreciate how big of a challenge it is to try and do all of the things they are doing. Everyone has “their items” they want addressed and become easily annoyed when they don’t believe progress on them is being made. 3rd party devs will fill in the voids again for 2024 and the sim will continue to improve even if that means some things regress before moving forward again. It’s the nature of software development.

Do we expect this to be improved, though? I don't - and I'm not too fussed spending a bit of money testing the various 3rd party addons which are constantly being improved.

When I was a dev after many years my personal mantra became "Expect ingratitude" which my boss didn't like too much.

I expect it to be improved when they kept saying it would be, and that working title were working on it? If however they said, “hey we’re not doing anything else with it”, that would be perfectly fine, some 3rd party can come up with something. But they don’t, they just keep glossing over it, like a state of limbo.

Indeed. I found the comment about replacing Asobo with an English-speaking team a bit provocative. But hey - that's just me - being European I guess and not having English as my native language 🙂
