What happened to my aircraft shadows?

Cast shadows on the ground is checked.... apparently you don't get them in gray skies....I changed weather to fair and they came back. Hmm, maybe they could make them present but lighter in gray weather

Ryan,That's the thing though....you don't really get shadows when it's grey and overcast.

Its a horrible feature in SP2. Less than 20miles & the shadows are almost invisible. Sometimes even in direct sunlight. Soft edge shadows should be very apparent even in foggy overcast conditions. ACES seem to think otherwise :( http://www.airliners.net/photo/Hello/McDon...0-30/1327700/L/

I like this feature of FSX. In FS9 I was always irritated by the dark shadow under my plane even in pouring rain. The picture above, and many others, prove that shadows don't disappear under such overcast conditions - they are clearly present, although slightly reduced in contrast intensity and softer at the edges.It would be great if ACES could render the shadows more realistically in cloudy and foggy conditions, as mentioned above, instead of removing them altogether.
