Where you post is incorrect, is that anyone who was not part of the SU1 Beta or unscubsribed prior to the release time of the update has been affected.

Thank you so much for that information. I have changed the behavior so that the update does not download automatically.

Kind of funny seeing a highly successful gaming company totally screw their helpful/unpaid beta testers. Just think of the number of man-hours lost * the number of users recovering from this mess.

I followed the procedure suggested by the Microsoft forum, but the "update required" warning remains in the Xbox app.
Any suggestions? Thanks

So. If I leave the beta program and perform a pc reboot, will I be safe, because it doesn't seem perfectly clear. Unless I am mistaken aren't some people still having trouble even after doing this?

I still have the warning here.

It's not resolved yet, users still experiencing the update and wiping of data according to the official forums even when they've left the beta...

As a native English speaker for more decades than I care to think, what the hell is 'flighting'?  It sounds like a nothing-term from a pretty nothing-less organisation as things stand.  If asobo is involved in anything important to real life, run a mile.

They also seem to have invented a new word

What is flighting? Definition and examples

Flighting is an advertising strategy in which the seller runs adverts for a period and then no ads at all for another period. The words ‘ads‘ and ‘adverts‘ have the same meaning, i.e., advertisements. In a flighting strategy, the advertiser only places adverts during optimal periods. During periods that are not optimal, the seller does not place any ads.

Flighting strategy capitalizes on consumer trends and seasonality, focusing ad spend during peak shopping or interest periods for more effective marketing.

We refer to the periods with and without adverts as the flight and hiatusrespectively.

This flight-plus-hiatus strategy goes against some theories which suggest that advertising should be continuous. Recent theory, in fact, strongly insists that having a hiatus is bad for sales.

The website smallbusiness.chron.com has the following definition of the term:

“Flighting involves allocating your advertising budget to ensure maximum exposure during optimal periods.”

“No advertising occurs during sub-optimal periods, conserving your advertising”

Arghhhhh, just happened to me, again (for the second time, despite my unenrolling in the beta)! This is beyond worrisome, someone needs to be held accountable for this disaster.

From their explanation it seems like a Windows setting is causing the problem. As in:

"Unfortunately, on Windows PC, users who had automatic updates enabled received a mandatory update"

I don't have FS2024 so can't try it.

That really sucks, Ryan. How many days since this was reported are people still being impacted by this?

Why the second time? Did you restored a backup after the first time?
