March 27, 20251 yr Just fishing for ideas. I am unable to run MSFS 2020 since a few weeks or few months ago. I currently have MSFS 2024 and it runs totally fine without any problems. But when I start MSFS 2020, the screen disappears about half way during loading of the program or sooner. Here is what I have done so far: Uninstalled MSFS 2020 Reinstalled it. Same problem Nothing in community folder. Tried starting in safe mode. Same problem I have the greatest and almost latest hardware running at default settings with no overclocking. AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with 64GB of ram, RTX 4090 I have tried several Nvidia drivers with no success. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. March 28, 20251 yr I was having somewhat of this same issue and I turned off Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling and it fixed my issue.
March 28, 20251 yr It is the NVIDIA App. If you have the app installed you must use MSFS in DX12, the sim will not start in DX11. Go to the User CFG for MSFS and change it to DX12 and it will fire up. From there chose Reset, then choose the first of two options, Repair. This worked twice for me in the past, one recently.
