Service Pack 2 is for FSX, even if you do not own the Acceleration Expansion Pack. (There are some known issues with certain third-party add-ons, so you should read up about this before deciding whether to apply SP2 if you have invested heavily in third-party software.)The Acceleration Expansion Pack requires SP2, and will install it automatically for you.Cheers,

OK thanks for that. I regarded FSX and the Acceleration Pack as seperate beasts (tho' indeed the latter requires the former)I didn't want to assume that updates for FSX automatically applied to Acceleration aswell. My install of Accel' didn't suggest it was installing FSX SP2, so I will do that now.ThanksNigel

Do you have a link for the issues with the 3rd party addons? I would really appreciate knowing where to go. I am having some issues with certain addons.

Mike Phil Taylor's blog has a list of FSX SP2 compatible aircraftThis is a link to how to tell if a version is made for SP2, SP1 etc:http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/archive/2008...-installed.aspxThis blog shows "true" FSX planes and FS9 planes that work in FSX SP2 (Accel) : http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/archive/2007/12.aspxI think there was a post here on AVSIM that detailed true comtaibility with FSX - might be worth a search.Peter Hayes
