GAIST works fine with Sea Traffic set to Off but Seafront Simulations requires at least Low but this will then display Asobo default Sea Traffic as well, at least that's what I'm seeing. After some more testing, GAIST doesn't work 'fine'. It works 'sort of' but a lot of the spawned sea traffic is not actually visible with Sea Traffic set to off, unlike with Seafront Simulations' 2024 compatible packages, and this does have an impact on the simulator. The ships are there as can be seen with LittleNavMap but not appearing in the sim. I haven't bothered in 2024 yet because of this.

You can see boat name plates, but no boats. AIS data includes boat type and size information, but that information is ignored (passenger ship, sailing boat, oil tanker, etc.). If you are lucy, you can see a boat, but it is flying and totally wrong type. Every ship you see a name tag for does have a model, the LODs are just messed up causing some to be invisible all the time unless you force the models' LOD in dev mode, and some ships are invisible unless you're really close up. Gaya also messed of the sizes on them in the ship config's file, some ships are reporting as like 5000 meters long according to LittleNavMap. The models are the right size, it's just the logical size that's wrong. I wonder if that could be confusing the LODs? I'm not sure how that works. I've not personally seen any flying ships. I have understand that there are ship model copyright problems. This solution would keep MSFS2024 and GAIST separated -> no copyright problems. GAIST team are working with Asobo on the live ship traffic, according to last year's FSExpo presentation at least. Live ship traffic does have a model matching system similar to live air traffic based off my exploring of the Gaya AI ship configs. AFAIK it only matches based off class type, no specific ship IDs and such. Edited April 26, 20251 yr by Tuskin38

Not perfect but any means, but better.
April 26, 20251 yr Yeah, been using "Vessels" for some time now. Had most of them in 2020, still a few left to buy. But about half are compatible with 2024 but I still use addon linker to bring my 2020 stuff over to 2024. So far, it works. I think Gaist is a great option though! 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
April 26, 20251 yr I can't get GAIST working in MSFS24 at all, it's linked as per normal in add ons linker but I'm seeing nothing in game, I've turned the in have ship setting to Off (SU2 beta may need the issue) LNM also doesn't show any boats (nor planes for that matter, well it showed one once but that was it), everything works normally in MSFS2020. Gaist ship routes folder and Gaist Ultra V6_1 folders in community folder Settings in MSFS2024 Under "General" Sea traffic setting to "OFF" I get plenty of traffic certainly around busy ports like Southampton Dover etc as well as lots of smaller yachts and fishing craft. LOD settings may also play a part but I'm not the best person to say what you should or shouldn't have. I've got a bit of a beast of a machine and it all works for me your mileage WILL vary. This doesn't appear to be working in the latest SU2 Beta, I'm not seeing any ships at all with Sea Traffic = OFF, when I turn that to ULTRA then the generic default boats appear but not GAIST ones. I'm guessing the beta has broken something here. April 27, 20251 yr Use Gaist; best choice for msfs 2024; until su2 official is released; if not working can always remove till a solution is found. Edited April 27, 20251 yr by Marc22
