Yeah last time i flew with one of my friends he did remove the engine covers from the CFM engine on that A320. Very realistic.

Oh and when he jumped 2 meters in the air to remove the pitot covers from the same 320? Awesome.

I'm sorry but i just don't understand some marketing decisions. If they want to turn this into a festival, go ahead, but give me that "disable festival" switch thank you.

Fair point on the airliner covers stuff, as that's a rare activity

HOWEVER, a preflight walk-around IS an every flight activity.

Heck, I'm so old that I remember when being able to walk around a pixel planes and check things was a feature reserved for Study Level add-ons.... 😎

I'm fine with anything added that actually has an in game /sim purpose if not done correctly or skipped. For instance if an addon plane has no failures modeled I'm not going to pull the fire handles in the checklist for example.

I remember a2a walkarounds where if you forgot to remove the pitot covers that's your altimeter gone for starters (valuable learning tool that!)

You should definitely be able to skip in game walkarounds if nothing ever goes wrong (hydraulic fluid spill on apron beneath landing gear 🧐) or be able to assign it to your fo who could give you a quick checklist after hopefully full of check marks.

Imo this is one of those features that has great potential if loaded with consequences for failing to do correctly but has actually been slapped in the game as an annoyance for so many.

For career mode you should definitely be able to score points if you find random issues (and get docked if you miss them!).

I guess irl commercial you're just signing off for the plane that's your responsibility and there would rarely be anything wrong if ground personnel had done their jobs properly. As opposed to ga solo when you'd darn well better check that plane is ready as you don't have the luxury of a personal engineer!

Try to start the engine if you forgot to remove the engine cover! In MSFS2024, there are consequences and things go wrong if you don't do the preflight checks correctly (agreed though that the engine covers for airliners are a bad example and should not be part of the walkaround checks).

I can't Bert, i like to configure everything from zero. I take around 20min to bring an airliner to taxi, and i really enjoy that.

I'm told by those who have it -- the latest SU2 beta allows you to bind a command to skip to the cockpit with ALL of the covers/chocks etc. stowed/removed.   In other words, it would solve that particular problem for you.

Im running FS2024 on two different PC's. Other than release week I've had no issues. If I can run it trouble free then it's more likely you system, internet connection or you are too focused on tweaking and you are creating problems

Uninstalling feels SO GOOOOD !!!! 🤣

For me it has days....

The days now are fully spent in the other sim, which is also in Beta but with huge improvements on each new update... FS 2024 is here, waiting for a chance to load the Fenix or the INIBUILDS 350 and make a medium range Eruropean or Europe - North Africa route 🙂

Also testin Active Sky FS which does wonders for the failures in correct weather depiction that FS 2024 has been experiencing and have been aggravated in the last 2 updates...

Ah!  Those runway / taxyway / overall aerodrome lights with HUGE bulbs also look.... well... weird 😕

The great thing about this sim is that it's a 10 GIG download. It's a quick re-install if I want to test again.

I will probably need to wait a long time, because I doubt that my issues will be addressed by ASOBO. There are too many things that I prefer from MSFS 2020. It's better for me to just stick with FS2020 and see how FS2024 evolves.

Congrats, you are a certified Flight Simmer.

Experience goes a long way. I've spent so many hours fooling around with FS2020, that when I tested 2024 on day 2, I knew what I wanted to test. Like many, I was not impressed.  I chose to test again after SU1 and I was so happy to see that most things where working much better, but when I compared it to my FS2020, I couldn't find a reason to switch. I'm glad that it is bringing joy to many FS2024 simmers. FS2020 brings joy every time I use it. I went through the growing pains and have everything I need for a fun experience. FS2024 can be a backup that can come in handy if something ever goes wrong with the server.

There's nothing much impressive that is changing these days. That includes MSFS 2024!

No, you clearly don't understand.

Falcon 4 is a dead game from an even deader company.

And it died about 25 years ago.

It's further complicated by IP rights and ownership transfers, etc. Too long to get into here.

This is similar, to a limited degree, why you could buy FSX for $20 even before MSFS was released.

Further, during its death throes, one of the employees released the source code to the public.

Which is how BMS came into possession, and then decided to improve the game over the last 20 years.

There's simply no legitimate way to compare charity to a business while implying the business is cheating it's customers.

Similar goes for the rest of your post. So shallow and ill considered it's not worth any further words.

I guess i triggered you. Have a nice day lol.

No, there are consequences for stupid things then you fly through a storm front with your Cessna 152 and there are no consequences, engine covers and deer are more important than realistic weather.

Good points, 3D characters of the quality in 2024's Fauna have been in games for a decade or so...easy stuff games devs know how to implement.

Similarly clicking on an object to change its properties from existing to not existing...even easier been around in games since I can remember having a mouse.

Weather and realistic flight representation not so easy.

In the 2024 release Asobo have improved Graphics in some areas and added gaming aspects like clicking more things and career mode.

Some would say these are Gimmicks, others that it helps immersion, what is clear is that the hard stuff didnt get much improvement over 2020 and the easy stuff did.

Some really  like the improvements that have come from work on the easy stuff and they are of course entitled to
