Best AI package for FSX?

Recommended Posts

I know this question might have been asked many times, but what do you guys think is the best AI package for FSX?There is My Traffix X, Ultimate Traffic 2007, skAI and many others which require more of a manual installation of liveries, timetables and models. Thanks for any help on this matter...______________Efrain RuizLiveDISPATCHhttp://www.livedispatch.orgCooler Master cosmos SDFI LP UT P35 T2R (3-17-2008 BIOS) | E8400 @ 4GHz (500MHz x 8) | 2 x 2GB OCZ Flex II PC9200EVGA Nvidia GTX280Two (2) WD3200AAKS 320GB (Operating System RAID-0) | Two (2) WD3200AAKS 320GB (Flight Simulator RAID-0)Corsair CM PSU-750TX | Asus 20X DVD

I agree. I use all the WOAI packages. Just be carefull of the military ones because they install AFCADS that may cause problems at some airports. Also the Canadian C-130 package has something wrong with it that hasn't been fixed. I can't remember what it was, but I didn't install it. Also, dont forget to run the flight plans thru AIFPC to convert them to FSX standards.I also run all the AI texture folder thru image batches_imagetool_included.zip to convert all the textures to DXT3. I noticed better performance and better looking textures doing this. I can run 100% AI and not even really notice much of an FPS hit.

Where do I get this? What does it do? Even though the WOAI installer has an FSX option, I still have to manually run ALL flightplans through this AIFPC?As for the batch thing, is there an option to create mipmaps for each livery? I really don't like the shimmering when seen from far away...Thanks for your help!______________Efrain RuizLiveDISPATCHhttp://www.livedispatch.orgCooler Master cosmos SDFI LP UT P35 T2R (3-17-2008 BIOS) | E8400 @ 4GHz (500MHz x 8) | 2 x 2GB OCZ Flex II PC9200EVGA Nvidia GTX280Two (2) WD3200AAKS 320GB (Operating System RAID-0) | Two (2) WD3200AAKS 320GB (Flight Simulator RAID-0)Corsair CM PSU-750TX | Asus 20X DVD

I installed my into Simobjects/Airplanes. You dont have to make an AI folder. I guess you could if you want to keep it seperate, but I haven't tried that. I just put them into the Aiplanes folder. I didn't understand your question about the FSX.cfg? When I install AI I don't make any changes to the FSX.cfg file.

Don't forget to take the stock Traffic.bgl and place it in a safe place. This way you don't have the default AI airliners showing up as well. I'm not sure, but unless you recompile the stock traffic .bgl and leave it in the scenery folder that may cause the new traffic to not show up. I think I did that during my first install, but I can't remember for certain.

You didn't changed the fsx.cfg because you installed in the defaults aircrafts folder. In my case I had to add a simobjects line in fsx.cfg for my simobjects/AI folder. I created a new folder to separate the WOAI aircrafts from the flyable ones.Ulisses

Did you remove the stock traffic.bgl? Is it working now?
