Autoortho and osm-patches etc.

Featured Replies

Hi there

As an Autoortho-user, I'm having the (well known...) problem that some payware-sceneries only work with the provided mesh-folder, in which case unfortunately that mesh overrides the orthos coming from Autoortho. But some of the devs provide a patch with the ending ".osm". I've read that the "ortho4XP"-tool can handle those patches and create an own tile. The problem is that I have never used Ortho4XP and it seems pretty complicated to install... Do one of you guys know if there is an easier way to generate an ortho-tile I can use together with Autoortho by converting that osm-patch without having to spend many time to install and learn how to use Ortho4XP? Sometimes I could find on the org some patches to download that we could use directly for Autoortho. But since everybody must have the same problem, why is there no devs (or some users) providing those files that AO can handle? Is that a copyright-thing?
I would appreciate any help 🙂

Just list any mesh scenery down the bottom of the scenery_packs.ini file; this will sort your problem.

not all ortho scenery are the same; as such the ability to control the x-plane loading order allow you to use exactly which scenery is best for you.

Thanks but that's not the case when using autoortho. Even if you put the mesh-folder being provided with the payware-scenery at the very bottom of the ini-file, it will override the AU-mesh and you won't get any orthos...
