Left bank Cirrus Vision on xplane 11

Featured Replies

Hi all.
i’m an ATPL pilot and an Instructor ( so no needs to explane windmillng or other principle of flight).

I think i’ve a software / hardware problem.

The Cirrus vision acft bank constantly on the left. It need a lot of right trim to stabilyze and flight stright.

any idea or solution ? (Note that its a single engine but jet ) not propeller

thanks

Good question.

It shouldn't, unless there's fuel imbalance or any structural problem causing parasite drag.

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

You want to display the position of the flight control surfaces on the screen, go to the DATA OUTPUT tab to enable that. A centered aileron/rudder will have a value of 0.0.

If that does not show the source of your imbalance, then check the fuel load for symmetry and the loading (many planes allow you to assign weights to individual seats, so if someone sits on the left front seat, naturally the CoG will be left of center.

Even if it's a really heavy guy, I don't thing that in such an aircraft it can make such a difference, at least to the point of requiring trimming...

The display of control deflections and eventual fuel imbalance is a good check though.

EDIT:

Just tested the Cirrus in my Xp12 install and didn't notice any left rolling tendency.

Displayed control deflections just in case there could also be something on my setup, but NADA!

The Cirrus flies straight & level and is rather stable indeed. When perturbed by gusts / updrafts / downdrafts, it's stability is very good.

You should check your hardware for any problems with the calibration and / or add curves to your stick for the pich, roll, yaw axis. With those settings you can easily create your own dead zones to hide any possible spikes.

Looks like the small rear stabilizers have different angles of attack in planemaker? Appears to be fixed in xp12.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

Good note / hint!

My post above saying I didn't notice any roll tendency was in Xp12.2 Beta. I don't use Xp11 since Xp12 was released and I purchased it day 1 🙂

First thing I'd check is your joystick and it's dead zone. After awhile, even the best ones get loose and can cause drift or other issues.

Not many other single engine jets, but the Citation X's narrow engine placement should suffice for quick & easy comparison.

There's a joystick calibrator built into Windows (well, there was in V10, not sure about v11).

There are also Profiles/Curves in the XP Joystick setup.

Take a close look at those and if your stick has alignment issues, you should be able to see them there.
