MSFS2020 : AIG Traffic rename folder (un BETA)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just ran the AIG and it told me to do a mandate update by renaming my "OCI BETA" folder to just "OCI"

In the end i created a folder within the folder and copied all content to this next level.

Is this somehow a pre-setup for a MSFS2024 install ?

Thanks

Michael Moe

It's easier to change the name directly through the AIG Manager interface. No issues here and no need to copy and paste anything.

Cheers, Ed

AI Manager is supposed to change the folder name on it's own. MSFS 2024 support started in December, so it's definitely been a while.

1. Start AIM in 2020 Mode and close after it has fully loaded
2. Verify that AIM has renamed the OCI package in MSFS2020 to "aig-aitraffic-oci"
3. Copy the directory to the MSFS2024 Community folder (DO NOT COPY any other AIG directory!)
3.1
Copy-Item -Path "H:\MSFS2020\Community\aig-aitraffic-oci*" -Destination "H:\MSFS2024\Community\aig-aitraffic-oci" -recurse -Force -Verbose

(Sample CMD-command, Adjust the PATHS!!!!)
4. Start AIM in 2024 Mode
5. Open the Settings
6. Navigate to the OCI-Settings
7. Click "Reset SimObjects" (This will take several minutes!)
8. Restart AIM
9. Run a Model Update when asked

any real advantages to updating "out of the beta?" The beta has been fine...and I don't wanna break anything because it's a hell of a download lol

AIM 1.3.1.0was designed to rename the directory automatically, sadly on some systems this caused major issues forcing users to redownload. With AIM 1.3.1.1 we have disabled the rename and users are forced to rename the directory and the title in the manifest.json themself.

The other option:

Backup OCI

Remove OCI

Setup OCI via AIM

Move backup back (do not copy manifest.json)

Been on the Beta version now for a long while in FS24...I'm not really having any issues at all with the models and such. Is there a real necessity to upgrade to the full release? I'm using BATC, SI, and Vatsim for traffic.

Beta will update to the current AIM automatically

Thank you for the response, but that's not really what I'm asking. I don't run AIM unless i'm downloading models. Would there be a point in running it to upgrade to the full release? Are there new models? Performance enhancements? Airlines?

AIM 1.3 was just a software update. New airlines / model updates are released independendly from AIM. You should run AIM on a regular basis to get all the updates for the content.

Hello Kaiii3,  I am exploring adding to MSFS 2024.  I am on AIM1.3.1.1.   My OCI still reads Beta.  It did not rename.  Can you refer me to the place (Link) where I can get detailed instructions from where I am at?  I looked on AIG forum, but could not find it.
