Have to think about this one. Interesting aeroplane in RW (Did a few hours in them) Peculiarly British with their own logic at times. No reverse thrust only airbrakes and wheel brakes. Spongy ride on the ground (a gentle wallow is the best term) used extensively in OZ but always limited to lower levels etc due to temperatures (They were not what you would call a high an hot machine). Comfortable passenger experience. Flying them straightforward apart from the usual everything in reverse for ON/OFF and some peculiarities with the AP. Anyhow National Jet in Australia got their money's worth out of them! Freighters and wet leases to Qantas etc probably nearly 30 years. Only the Brits would come up with the idea of using tank turbine engines and four of them to build an airliner.(I think the current King when he was a pretend royal pilot nearly pranged one some where in the UK as well)

Had it in FSX/P3D (QW version).

Now I would like to know did they reproduce the flap noise (howl) as the flaps are retracted past 18 degrees  or extended and they approach 18 degrees - have to flown in one to understand. You could hear them miles away from the ground when those flaps went out or in! I will await some feedback!

This one is certainly priced well on the market!

I fondly remember Qantas had a fleet of these.  I have seen a couple of them at Bankstown airport, albeit, not airworthy.  They looked like they had parts taken off them.

I used to call them the passenger aircraft with 4 APU's on the wings.

The 4 APU turbojet is what we used to call TAP's Airbus 340-300 🙂

Side note: the CASA 101 primary jet trainer really does/did use an APU from a DC-10 as it's engine!

YES! They did!

I have the XP 11 version and always enjoyed it.

I'll be happily adding this new upgrade to my hangar.

Isn't it because they used 4x A320 engines...? If so, probably an eminently logical choice for maintenance & spares...?

And anyways, everyone knows that 4 engines are twice as good as 2 😆

Surprisingly low price. With the upgrade discount, it's just $25!

Since their other addon pricing is rather the same as always, I think this is a bit of a market price test for JF/Thranda. Especially since Thranda themselves said they didn't break even on the v11 version.

Similarly, the JF Vulcan for MSFS is priced at basically half what it costs for P3D and XP.

What if really like to see is Thranda (who re-develops JF add-ons for XP) continue to branch out into larger, complex, and advanced aircraft like this.

There's a huge hole in the XP market for biz jets, et al., and it'd be great to see them fill the gap, either in partnership with JF, or under their own brand as with the recent PC-12.

In any case, I'm quite glad to see JF come back to XP - they were definitely on the fence for awhile. 👍

Yeah I would like to see them branch out to bring more types of aircraft, maybe bring us a B717 which is a gap I like to see filled. The freeware sector sometimes can be a little slow which is why I was more than happy when Airfoillabs announce that they were during the MAX even though Levelup was doing the a free rendition base on the Zibo.

Funny, there is an ATC vidio in us where 747 has engine fail om takeoff. Atc asks if they want to declare an emergency, pilot says, no we have 3 left. Just direct us back to aiport.

I think they, like others, are noticing a resurgence of users. Especially evident on the Reddit groups.

I didn’t own it for XP11, so I don’t know. Have you clicked til the end of the checkout just before clicking on « send » or « buy »? Sometimes it will appear only at the very end. Otherwise I would send a message to the simmarket-staff.

Hi, yes I did click during checkout, and I contacted support who forwarded me to another sector.

I confess that it is a little frustrating because it is stated in the pdf on the Simmarket product website. And it didn't just happen to me, I saw a post on the X-plane org forum, but the customer was anxious and bought it even without the discount he was entitled to. Thanks for your answer.

Sometimes he's not the best guy to record an aircraft review because he can make it look really bad, not because the aircraft is actually bad but because he doesn't have the slightest idea about what he's doing... like in this vid where he takes the aircraft to stall during descent through the STAR, and then says he doesn't know what's happening there and then disengages the A/P ... completely forgetting about the Bae 146 not having an A/T and the PIC having to manually set thrust....

So true. But not that I would do any better. I just watched his flight review of the Q4XP. I was impressed. Then I watched a flight review of the Q4XP by a real pilot that flew the Dash 8 400. Guess what? Q8 did everything wrong in terms of flaps, prop speed, flare, etc. But to someone like me who doesn't know any better, Q8 has a slick and impressive channel.
