KRIC FEELTHERE VS AXONOS opinions both on sale

KRIC FEELTHERE VS AXONOS

Any opinions if one is better then the other. Both on sale at the moment.

Not much info found on either one.

You couldn’t pay me to use anything from FeelThere.

Richmond is my home airport and I’ve put a fair amount of time into flying there. I can’t speak for the FeelThere version, but the team at AXONOS did an okay job with their scenery for KRIC. That said, I do have a couple of gripes.

The most frustrating issue by far is the terrain bumps on Runway 16/34. Both ends have hidden elevation issues that can literally flip your aircraft if you hit them just right. I’ve reached out to AXONOS with evidence and tried to work with them to get it resolved. Unfortunately, they said it’s a base sim issue. For what it’s worth, this problem doesn’t seem to exist, at least not as badly with the default scenery. I’ve learned where the bad spots are and just avoid them now. I even suggested they get in touch with Bill Womack, since he’s got a lot of experience, but I don’t think that went anywhere. It does work in 2024 and I don't think the bumps are as bad.

My other issue is with the static aircraft. The textures are pretty rough, so I ended up removing them altogether since they didn’t really add anything to the scenery for me. Outside of those problems, the scenery is actually pretty solid. I wish they’d go back and update it, but I doubt they will. One thing I’ll give them credit for: before release, I messaged them on Facebook to let them know there are two unmarked 757s that always sit near the hangars on the east side of the field. I was impressed to see that detail made it into the final product. The terminals aren’t modeled, but the layout and taxiways seem accurate.

Overall, I still enjoy flying into the AXONOS version of KRIC—it just really needs those runway bumps fixed. Dropping some screenshots and links below that show the terrain issue for anyone curious.

How hard is it to delete the static aircraft. I don't want any. I use BATC. That will load all the aircraft's I need.

Thanks for the info.

I got the Axonos version. Its ok.

Certainly not worth what they are asking, even on sale, but they are not the only ones over charging these days.

That is ok. I knew pretty much what I was getting.

I feel the same with some of their recent releases, but the Tucson airport they make is very nice. And most of their airports work in 2024. They mostly doing the Tower airports now.
