Does the X-Box release of MSFS support add-ons bringing a host of external plugin code with them in the first place? I've been wondering for a while, as some add-ons are not offered for the Xbox, while others are.

There are plenty of add ons for MSFS available on Xbox that use external code. The A2A Comanche with it's external flight model and Accusim are available to use on Xbox.

You've been able to plug a mouse and keyboard into an Xbox since 2017....

Interesting. Going thru the comments I found this. "Giuliana ToLiss — 18:34 Hi all! We’re super busy at the expo but just wanted to drop in to let everyone know we’re definitely

  • What’s interesting is Torsten announced that he had to make a flight model within MSFS because the MSFS flight model doesn’t deliver what he needs. This conflicts with other people’s and developers op

  • I understand.  My eldest son runs MSFS2020 on an Xbox with the PMDG 737-600. It runs surprisingly well on a 40" 4k tv and looks amazing.  No simbrief but he runs Little Navmap on a laptop and manually

I've considered adding a controller to my HOTAS rig to complement some of the more interface-heavy add-ons in DCS World (looking squarely at YOU, AH-64 Apache Co-Pilot/Gunner!).

Even with a full A-10C replica HOTAS covered with buttons (TM Warthog), I still don't have enough to use the Apache's CPG controls!

If you need a recommendation: Get a pad with hall sensors. Much more precise and durable than potentiometers. I'm pretty content with Gulikit's King Kong.

And if you want something simpler to get used to gamepad heli controls: Helicopter Gunship DEX on Steam. A "Longbow", "Hind", "Gunship!" or "Enemy Engaged" for the future.

Thanks.

Well, consoles are not something I readily associate with mouse and keyboard, so using those did not spring to mind while writing that post.

Why use an Xbox? He also has to support wife, children and mortgaged bliss. A £500 Xbox as opposed to a £1500 - £2000 equivalent PC was an easy compromise.

He says he does miss head tracking....
