>"Plus given GMax is done as determined by Autodesk, FS11 will>likely require learning a completely new modeling tool.">>Any connection to the purchase of Truespace by MicroSoft Phil>?, its one Heck of a nice tool for free.no, Autodesk abandoned GMax long before that move. it took a lot to get Autodesk to let us continue to use GMax for FSX, FWIW.so us providing new tool support is a known requirement moving forward.

Thanks Phil , i recall there were a number of hurdles that were placed in the race to get Gmax into the hands of modellers for FSX, the direct model export with no X file being one that comes to mind. Also it was only a month and change since i downloaded TrueSpace after the announcement , i was just wondering out loud if i should get used to it and is it part of the " Grand plan " for VNext , i know 3DS is supported and i hope there are still plans to release the compiler for 3DS9 and foreward , at any rate i am confident ACES will do what can be done, they always have.Best Regards C.JBtw another Freeware FSX Native production is the Jeep WranglerI released back in May for tooling around in the back woods scenery.Check the licence plate in front ;)http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Loca...&ImageID=204540 http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxac&DLID=122156

An alternative FSX modelling tool (not free, but cheaper than 3DS at $70) is being tested with 3D canvas pro.It compiles models using the FSX SDK xtomdl program and provides all the features of the 3DS materials, attach tool and animations. This is all with a view to using the tool for Train Sim2 (hence the website)http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=86363Overview:http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=86566more here:http://decapod-3d.spaces.live.comI'm just finishing off another FSX aircraft to prove it all works.

Yes, besides the 707, although I don't think of it as a modern day airliner, but something John Travolta likes to play around with in the modern day lol.My dream is for developers to make freeware "true" FSX airliners like the 767, A319, BAE146, DC10 etc.>>Thanks for the list. I am surprised no developer has made>a>>freeware "true FSX" aircraft that is a modern airliner jet>>(that isn't just a repaint of the default a/c)>>you mean besides the 707-200>>26) 707-420>http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/file?rk=H6Xcc...2t=main/top.htm>>>?>
