July 4, 2025Jul 4 Hi all, Just downloaded and extracted Blackpool airport and scenery to the community folder but it cannot be found on the world map and using the search still does not come up any ideas to get this working ? flight sim 2020 only been downloaded a week so fully up to days as well as my windows 11 pc also being fully up to date. Thanks Alan
July 4, 2025Jul 4 Author OK update, even though I put my sim on D drive in xbox folder and there is a community folder in there the sim has also but a folder with community on the standard C drive string. Still having problems though, I moved Blackpool airport folder and then the blackpool landmarks folder. airport still cannot be seen on world map but is found when you search. its works fine but the blackpool landmarks are not pulling through . No tower, no pleasure beach ect. Any ideas ? Thanks Alan Edited July 4, 2025Jul 4 by swaps

July 5, 2025Jul 5 Author No, I have not done that, only been on the sim about 2 weeks and 1 week was just getting the download ! I thought that deleting that was only for the refreshing official scenery ? this is the unofficial add on scenery does that still apply ? Thanks Alan

It must be the root folder inside community folder. Open the Blackpool folder, you should see jason files and simobjects files inside, that's the root folder that goes in the community folder. Bill, the airport is working fine now, just not showing on the world map but I can search and find it. its just the scenery and points of interest not being found. main folder shows as blackpoolscenery_w9hw1 inside that there are 16 folders with each having a separate point of interest the next folder is called sightseeing-blackpool-pois-skell300 inside is another folder named sightseeing-blackpool-pois-skell300 and 2 files layout.json and manifest.json in the second sightseeing-blackpool-pois-skell300 folder contains folder contentinfo folder scenery and the 2 files again layout.json and manifest.json I did try moving the files from the second folder to the first but get error saying I cannot do this. Thanks Alan
July 6, 2025Jul 6 Sounds like the developer did a lousy job of packing the scenery. But glad you got things working for you. Now go enjoy your sim. Bill, scenery is not working only the airport but it was nice to get that running but Bing map does not show anyof the landmarks for me. other saying they are there but I suspect them have used the addons and just dont remember. I have made another thread about bing maps as I though they used satelite images for us to fly around but its very basic around the backpool area. no Piers , no tower, no pleasure beach or tramway (oldest in the country) in such a tourist area I thought all these would be included
July 6, 2025Jul 6 Have you tried addon linker yet? It will allow you to link your addons to FS away from the community folder on separate drive. That's what I use to manager and link all my addons to FS. It can be found on Flightto website. To be clear: the actual addon files are stored away from the Community folder, true (they can be anywhere you choose). But the links to these files are placed in the Community folder by AL.
