Well it looks like Imaginesim updated Atlanta to now include the Whiskey Loop. It took them long enough to fix this. We've been asking for this update since the last update. I wonder if the upcoming Orbx Atlanta pushed them to update it and get a few more sales. I know if users asked them to fix it, they were blocked from there FB page. From the screenshots there still misssing a few buildings around the new Whiskey Loop.

Anyways, has anyone checked out the new version? I purchased mine on the Marketplace so its not in there yet.  

 

KATL Atlanta MSFS 2020 Update

Available now for our website customers via the imaginesim Operations Center. Most significant is the addition of Taxiway W (known as the Whiskey Loop) around the back of Runway 9L. Along with a host of other tweaks, changes, and a complete recompile using the latest MSFS SDK tools. MSFS 2020 Marketplace customers should get their KATL update over the coming weeks. Atlanta for MSFS 2024 has almost finished testing and should be available next month. Hopefully

I have the marketplace version as well.  I don't trust ImagineSim to make it better than the default.

Can't wait for orbx to finally release atlanta!

Would be interested in any reviews though… uninstalled this a short time after purchase with nothing from ImagineSim despite many, many requests. Glad to see some progress… better late than never.

 

In particular- how does it function in 2024?

Neither the asobo handcrafted or this one are particularly good.  But to my eyes as a very frequent traveler out of ATL, the handcrafted is better.  orbx will be 50x better subject to performance being ok

That’s what I was worried about… ah well… hopefully Orbx is the answer….

Handcrafted isn’t bad but there are a lot of missing building/hangars. This is not isolated to ATL and hopefully Asobo will fix this ASAP.

Still have Imaginesim's Atlanta in my MP library but waiting for ORBX's Atlanta and as for another Imaginesim airport, KDFW has zero interiors for immersion-haven't even bothered buying that one, something another dev would bring to the DFW table, eg. inBuilds were to tackle DFW.

There other Texas airport, KSAT, is totally useless if using DX12. They even as much admitted so telling people to use DX11 with it, they it was not designed for DX12. So in that vein, I’d take the Imaginesim one, at least it’s usable in DX12.

Yep - it's pretty disappointing because visually it looks good IMO, but the performance is horrendous for such a relatively small airport. 

Is there an updated GSX config for this.  the one on flightsim.to is disabled 😞

I purchased the Imagine KATL directly from their site, and find it quite acceptable compared to the Asobo version. Their KDFW is very good also, I don't need to see the interior of terminals to judge how good a scenery is. I don't fly inside the terminal.

This might break records of day 1 sales. Long over due for this airport and it's not one I would fly into allot but we really need it.
