Fenix is overated asf

Although Fenix makes very good products, I would say that this is accurate. The way people talk about it makes it seem like it's something unique and extraordinary, which it isn't. It has some pretty serious issues that still need to be addressed.

We all know about the lackluster flare. Hopefully this will finally be fixed with BFU.

Rudder control is the worst I've seen compared to the other aircraft I own.

Flight directors are very jumpy in turns at times. This reminds me of PMDG products. Granted, the autopilot still handles turns much better and smoother than PMDG, but when trying to follow the FDs in turns while hand flying, they can sometimes be pretty useless. Other aircraft I've flown recently like the iFly 737 MAX and even the iniBuilds A350 (and I'm sure many others) don't have this problem.  I'm specifically referring to lateral jumpiness of flight directors in turns. I know that exaggerated updrafts and downdrafts in MSFS can affect vertical guidance on all aircraft.

There are other things where it falls short too, like the handling of the aircraft in a V1 cut.

Hopefully the BFU will address some or all of these things.

Jokes about long delays are kind of ironic coming from the FSL side...

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Bought it yesterday, had a play round and completed a couple of short flights but I can't for the life of me get a load sheet in the MCDU received messages (so therefore guess the MACZFW and hope I rotate properly on takeoff, not sustainable) and cannot get any of my TCA joystick buttons, or keyboard binds, to work on the overhead light switches; strobes, taxi lights etc. totally baffled. It has great potential. Never mind fancy texturing and bendy wings I'd settle for a 'Load from Simbrief' on the EFB right now. Yes I have read through the documentation and watched a number of YT videos and the issue hasn't cropped up.

you get a load sheet once you complete the OFP in the ATSU menu.

Yes, it’s old P3D routine, there is nothing new in this aspect.

Yeah, I do INIT/INIT DATA REQ* then OFP DATA+ check the entries then SEND* then I check Received Messages and all I've got is a slot notification msg. Kinda stumped.

Make sure you are doing the payload as well.

Payload? in the MCDU or the EFB? Do you mean Fuel or Boarding? Ta.

Not to mention that Fenix hasn't released an update in 8 months, not to mention that it doesn't officially support MSFS 24 (no support from Fenix) unlike FSLab which is officially compatible and supported by FSLab.

And a lot of people word not allowed on PMDG, but they're one of the first to release addons that are 100% native to MSFS 24 (Fenix, FSLab, iFly and Aerosoft's CRJ are not native).

Own both products. Both excel in places and both do not excel in places. With you saying what you did and replying back to me with says to me you are a fanb.. of FSLabs. It's okay to be but definitely over rated.

To be fair, the iFly is pretty great in MSFS 2024, even if it's not fully native. I still think it has the best flight model of any aircraft in MSFS, and it's a better 737 than anything PMDG has put out. Even the Fenix is pretty fun to fly for the most part, with the exception of the issues I mentioned earlier.

Not to mention that it took FSLabs a whole MSFS game and over 4 years just to release a 321CEO and miss what I suspect is a load of buyers. Oh and still bring bugs from P3D in the 4+ years it took them to come to MSFS. We didn't have an update from FSLabs at all. At least we got updates from developers. IFly works fine just like the Fenix works fine in 24 regardless if its not fully native or supportive they do help to troubleshoot some things with 24 though so support is still given.

Have to agree with RNAVV19R the IFly flies so much better than PMDG.
