July 17, 2025Jul 17 I'm primarily a general aviation, VFR guy that often doesn't even make flight plans. Just a whole lot of "request following" as I move through areas. But I do like seeing and hearing activity around the busy airspaces, even if it's just AI. Any ATC addons that can give me more of that?
July 17, 2025Jul 17 For your usage, default may be good enough. If you like re-using ATC recordings, you could use FS-ATC-Chatter. I agree with Luis... just use default ATC with default traffic. There's enough activity that it feels lively.

If you want an AI platform it sounds like your best fit is Say Intentions - it was initially built for VFR ops
July 17, 2025Jul 17 Currently the only two ATC addons that support VFR are Pilot2ATC and SayIntentions. Pilot2ATC doesn't do its own traffic injection/control (it only controls you alone), so may be a bit lonely compared to the others, but it does support integrating the ATC Chatter addon that Luis mentioned. SayIntentions just recently launched their version of traffic injection, but like all of the ATC addons right now, the NPC traffic is basically just airlines and some business jets, so while you can hear them in the air some, they probably won't be interacting with small airports.
July 18, 2025Jul 18 The addon I use enables the pilot to badically ask any atc question of your copilot and get a cogent answer. It also allows asking the controller normal atc type questions and the controller will answer those atc questions. It's pretty much like Vatsim but with 24 hour worldwide coverage. The only drawback is that many times my copilot goves me a sarcastic (but correct) answer. Forever indebted to the late Michael Greenblatt of FSGS.
July 18, 2025Jul 18 Default! I have FSHUD and BATC, but nowadays 95% of the time for my short range airliner flights (IFR) I use default ATC and AI Traffic, as well as default Ground Services. Fictious liveries are no problem for me. For rather procedural flights, no emmergencies, have my AI Traffic set to Low, it's more than enough for me, and successive SU3 flighting versions have even fixed some irritating bugs like that of the cruise altitude not being correctly set from a PLN file. I build the flightplan in SimBrief, import it into FS 2024 using the built in EFB and SEND it to ATC (and that's about all I use the default EFB for...), and I am good to go. If my aircraft has custom link to SimBrief then great! I'll use that too 👌 Edited July 18, 2025Jul 18 by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
July 18, 2025Jul 18 Right now using SI, I really like that I can call ground and get them to connect the tug and do the pushback. Allowed me to get rid of GSX and gain some performance back. --Sean Hart
