Jorg said MSFS is "fully funded for years to come"

Featured Replies

So there have been so many rumors about the layoffs at Microsoft and XBox, and people are worried about how it will affect MSFS.  Well, Jorg answered that today:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2520390805?t=01h08m08s

He said, "flightsim (ie. MSFS), we are fully funded for the years to come." I hope this puts those rumors to rest.

If he said anything negative Microsoft would pull the plug.

hmm yeah wasn't there a Dev at The Crew who said the same thing then 1 month later it was completely scrapped!? Rumours about MS lay offs affecting MSFS won't ever stop, Jorg is merely an MS employee saying pleasant & positive things to keep his bosses happy and we'd all do the same in his situation. He's just towing the corporate line here.

Asobo has done what they said they would, su16 was released for 2020 and it's not being left behind.  They're porting some of the 24 aircraft back to 2020 (I assume for a fee of course as it's a lot of work).

Are there bugs in 24?  Absolutely.  Is backwards compatibility not quite as certain as we first were told - yes.

Still there's a lot to love in 2024.  It's hilarious the same people keep saying negative things anytime something positive is posted.

Stay with 2020 then - no one is making you switch to 24.  Development is moving ahead though with 2024, and that's where I'll be.  I've always enjoyed getting the new sim, bugs and all.

That's a bit harsh. Every dev team has limitations due to budgets.

Wait, what? Is this mentioned in the dev update today? Do we have a list of planes?

A much better investment for Microsoft would be to purchase Laminar Research and let them build a real flight sim. We would have the best of both worlds - great physics and flight dynamics + great visuals with Microsoft's budget.

Jorg says what?.... It's up to you to believe...

So why you bother hanging around  MSFS forum? Just to fume your trust issues? LOL

Yes. The Optica and the Firefighting plane are coming (The big one), along with others. Not every plane, but certainly he said that they will try and do 3 a month for a few months.

I’d rather they put that money towards making the CFD/NPS/SBS “mandatory” in MSFS, just like BET is in XP.

I wonder how much of a hit on the marketplace they've taken. The new version is so bad it makes it hard to buy or find anything. The whole MSFS 24 UI is the worst I've experienced in gaming across every mode and tab.
