Without playing the video, the still frame looks like MSFS before SU5. What a shame that the sim chose fitting into Xbox over fidelity. In XP12, every aircraft models inertia realistically, so the handling feels natural and consistent across the fleet. In MSFS, however, only a select few aircraft share that same level of fidelity - many don’t fully capture the inertia effect, which can impact how authentic the handling feels. Especially after seeing the second approach and the fact that the wind shear is so variable on the way in. One comment claimed that wind socks on either end of that particular runway can sometimes be pointed in opposite directions, but for variation like that you'd expect to see a lot more bumping around. I've heard there's ways to disable xwind effects on the ground too; makes it much easier to control in conditions like those. The magic elevator on the first approach is the atmospheric CFD model gone wrong. Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. August 10, 2025Aug 10 Video is absolutely brilliant. Love the rain on the windscreen and working wipers that really move the rain. My issue is that no matter what I try my AA/AF look just like those in the video. It's like they are broken. I thought it was just me but both of the videos posted have the exact same behaviour so now I'm wondering if it's not something in my settings... You really see it on the metallic textures and the wet tarmac but even in the cockpit I always have that same shimmering... I just updated my whole system to a 9800X3D with a 5090 and DDR5 so need to load XP back up and see if it's any different with the new system. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

I agree that this video does not do X-Plane a great service - it does show a lot of the good stuff, but the low AA settings and the bad framerate make me think that the FlyingScotsman either needs to upgrade his rig, or uses low-quality video capture software. I run X-Plane at 4K with FXAA and 2xMSAA on a 9950X3D and a 5070 with "all slides right except for only 2xMSAA" and I get between 30 and 70 fps, depending on the settings - and it looks a ton better than this video...
August 11, 2025Aug 11 Here's where everything in Life should be thanked for... My presbyopia is growing so intense year after year, that all of those graphic glitches you complain about are barely noticed here 🤣☺️🤓 BTW, found the video and the FF 767 Freighter so cool that since I own their 757 I am now tempted to take a chance anytime they run a promotional sale for the 767 🙂 I whish I could feel the same way regarding their 777 v2 😕 Oh My Gosh that takeoff !!!! and the balloon in the trajectory 🙂 Edited August 11, 2025Aug 11 by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

August 12, 2025Aug 12 What I do see in Xp12 are colours of the sky, at the various times of the day, rendering of aerodrome lights, being it taxiway lights or runway lights and their approach lighting systems that look like real life instead of fuzzy bulbs. I still miss night lighting illuminating cloud bases near urban areas... In most aircraft I can use instrument popups that allow me to correctly see what they display, instead of having to zoom to a level that makes out of windshield views rather irrealistic in proportion, etc... I also see weather rendering, less mist and fog banks, rather realistically displayed.
