Dynamic LOD eliminated the stuttering on landing: wonderful

Featured Replies

Hello,

I had given up on using MSFS 2024 because everything was working well, but during landing, I had some deadly stutters that ruined the entire flight. Imagine: you prepare the parameters for the descent, you descend, you perform the approach while respecting the constraints and the charts, you line up, you maintain the descent rate, you stabilize, you think, "I'm good," and then... deadly stutters. So, every time I flew with MSFS 2024, I had stutter anxiety.

I watched numerous "anti-stutter" tutorials, I tried everything, I configured everything, and I still experienced stutters upon landing.

Unwilling to give up, I tested Dynamic LOD (I had previously tested simple AutoFps without any effect) and with this configuration:

No more landing jerks and no more stutter anxiety.

If the author of Dynamic LOD is reading this, I offer my sincere thanks and congratulations, and I'd like to ask him a question:

In my Dynamic LOD configuration (see screenshot above), the TLOD and OLOD on the ground are 40. Is it possible to have an option that would reset it to the default settings, for example: TLOD 150 and OLOD 100?

Your issue probably was OLOD being 100 on the ground with AutoFPS.

But you can use 40 on the ground up to 250 in AutoFPS too.

Love the work reset has done with autofps. Haven't used dynamic in a long time.

For autofps I use the FPS variance at 2% so it slowly makes changes to the TLOD. I keep mine around 50 on the ground at 1500ft and then up to 250 in the air.

No stutters.

personally i prefer resets dynamic_lod to autofps. both excellent programs, really does make flying a pleasure.

to do what you asked about changing for default tlod and olod, you can quite easily do it... either change the one you are using to the values and altitudes you want, or click the drop down menu...{will be '1'... select '2' and change all of them to suit your needs. after each tlod\alt change just click the 'S' button next to them to save.

An absolute must have program.  I owe my flight sim enjoyment to the creator of the mod.  Without it my four year old gaming laptop just wouldn't cope.

MSFS 2024 is too demanding, but I'm running MSFS 2020 as smooth as butter, TLOD from 100-200 and OLOD at 100.

Great, I should have thought of that. Thank you so much.
