Any utility to change MSFS 2024 settings in a batch type way

Featured Replies

When I fly an airliner, I’m using BATC and turn off default traffic and ATC. I also lower my TLOD. When I’m flying VFR, I’m doing the opposite. Is there any utility that will allow me to start the session with these different settings so I don’t need to jump around in the settings to adjust this stuff?

I guess I could see if the options I want to tweak are in useropt.cfg and then have two different files and use a couple of bat files (like IFR.bat and VFR.bat) to rename them accordingly and launch the sim.

In case anyone cares, I’ve figured out a decent solution…

I basically setup two UserOpt.cfg files… one for IFR with TAA, lower TLOD and air traffic quality off (a BATC requirement). And another one for VFR with DLAA, higher TLOD and traffic quality ultra.

Then I wrote a pair of bat files that copies the respective IFRUserOpt.cfg or VFRUserOpt.cfg to UserOpt.cfg.

Then I’m using a startup profile in Addon Linker for starting in IFR or VFR and it runs the respective bat file and also any other apps required for that mode… like BATC and the iFly helper only gets run in IFR mode. Auto FPS is used in both modes and it has a command line option to set IFR/VFR mode which works nicely for this.

So this automates my startup for IFR or VFR as much as possible. I only have to change a few settings to disable traffic and ATC if I’m using IFR/BATC and enable those if using VFR as some sim settings are in a binary database file unlike the graphic settings.
