for both 2020 and 2024 you'll need to claim the city update in the marketplace.

for 2020 I believe you have to buy the EC135, but 2024 users will have it for free already, no need to go to the marketplace. You'll need to be updated to SU3 to see it I think.

The EC135 was made by Nemeth Designs.

It's crazy that I can recognize exactly where that Heli is from the thumbnail. These are the Tannheimer Berge in Austria and the Heli is more or less flying abeam the Haldensee.

I've never been there in real life, but a few years ago when I was returning from a vacation in Austria I drove past Reutte and as we were approaching the valley from the east you could see those peaks in the distance and I thought: Those look interesting.

Yeah, it looks very nice, but......are we still at the stage where solid bridges are unavoidable with PG?

they have to be manually edited out.

And I don't see the issue, are you trying to fly under them?

You may not be affected by them, but they are a deal breaker for me. I really do think that the time should be spent to "manually edit them out".

CU 12 Germany

Microsoft Flight Simulator: City Update 12 beautifully enhances seven urban regions in Germany across five of its states:

 ·       Augsburg in the state of Bavaria,

 ·       Bremen in the state of Bremen,

 ·       Dresden and its borough,

 ·       Leuben, in the state of Saxony,

 ·       Leipzig in the state of Saxony,

 ·       Kiel in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, and

 ·       Münster in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

This latest offering invites Microsoft Flight Simulator aviators to soar throughout castles, botanical gardens, bridges, towering skyscrapers, and more, reproduced in exquisite detail. City Update 12: Germany is available FREE to all owners of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Download it today. The sky is calling!

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Personally the update feels a bit "meh" for me. I guess the quality of the TIN is better and now up to date. But all of the cities except for Leuben were already available as TIN cities.

Of older date, and lower quality, but still. I'd rather see places added that weren't in there before.

I tried to get this but it refuses to be enabled, saying I need to update MSFS 2024 first.  What?  I’m already up to date with SU2.  I restarted several times to see if MSFS would try to update itself but nothing.  Tried to update from the XBox app, but nothing.  What on earth is going on here?  Did Microsoft release something that won’t run until SU3 is released?  That would be a  weird strategy, to release add-ons they can’t support yet.   Is everyone who is able to use this on SU3 beta?

Tbh he has a valid point. They use resources for those CU anyway, they add handcrafted POIs etc. but editing out at least those bridges within the PG cities is too much to ask? How long does it take a skilled dev? 10min per bridge?

Its those little things that make me shaking my head over and over again, they simply dont do things right first time, end of the story. But considering the nonexistant QA, it is actually no surprise. I bet the photogrammetry mess in half of Switzerland is also still not fixed even though it is a double updated WU region...

Sometimes the updates take awhile to become available for all computers.

Well, I do not consider this what they might call QA to be anything near it regarding the release of full products, sim updates, city updates and world updates along with local legends. QA, as the name implies, shoud assure a certain quality level most of those releases and updates clearly miss by margins. Unless you have such a low quality standard of course, which is then a more general issue of todays world. Not only in IT...
