Unable to taxi in the Fenix post SU3

Featured Replies

Not sure if any sim setting changed, but on the first flight post the update it behaves as if the tire is blown, wheel chocks are on, brakes are on or something is obstructing the wheels. Unable to push or taxi, until I floor it on the throttle and then it behaves as if I was in South Central in a caddy with hydraulics. Anyone else?

I'd check your keyboard and controller bindings for the parking brake.

I found SU3 mapped some in my Warthog HOTAS throttle for some reason - causing the parking brake to remain stuck, no matter what I did. The controllers GUI is an absolute nightmare - made even worse by SU3.

I needed to recalibrate my Thrustmaster throttle, there are still a few gremlins in my config too, annoying, but I have to say, after updating everything the Fenix is a dream, no issue that I can see with taxi. Try the Inibuilds Airbus to see how that behaves? The Fenix is fully updated?  Good luck finding it!

There are a couple reports of people having parking brake release issues, maybe this is your problem? Only thing that is incongruous about that is you make it sound like with full power you do get movement, just slow? I think the parking brake is a binary affair, meaning iits on you should not move period no matter what, so I dont know 😞

Yes - I had a rogue and new assignment of parking brake (in fact, there were three across two bits of my HOTAS setup).

I have more dreadful sktluff with SU3 too.  Wasted a whole weekend fighting it.

Didn't you notice the parking brake lever was on?

It isn't.  You can engage the parking brake and disengage in the cockpit but even with 'parking brake off' in the cockpit because, for reasons only known by itself, it has set a few secret, hidden, parking brakes that don't connect to the cockpit lever and so it sticks to the runway as though it has chocks.

I know, it makes no logical sense but, remember, this is an MSFS Update...

I think you can tell I've had a wasted weekend - the parking brakes have been the least of my challenges.

I can [sort of] understand new/rogue assignments being added to default controller profiles, but why did SU3 add assignments to my *own/custom* profiles??

Sorting out the GUI really needs to be made top priority to fix ... it's utterly brain dead and causes us the users hours of grief.

Over-engineered and poorly implemented. I can't think of a worse combination.
