Unable to make purchases from the Marketplace SU3

Featured Replies

I have not been able to make purchases from the marketplace since SU2 and now in SU3.

I have a Credit Card, a Debit Card and PayPal as alternative payment types but nothing works. I get a box indicating MS store which becomes the dreaded black box with the three flashing white dots.

I can use any of the 3 payment methods in the Microsoft store

When will this be solved. I believe from a previous post that Microsoft, using a member's details, with their permission, could not make a purchase.

To me this just as important as any other issues and maybe more important.

Same here - MS has lost 4 aircraft and 1 scenery purchase from me

I think it has something to do with - although the credit card they have - has been used many times - it doesn't work now because the system seems to come to a halt when MS check with the bank - which either shows a break down with MS talking to the bank - or a glitch in the system

I just wish they would get it sorted out - it's been going on for some time

It might be just an Australian problem - in my case - the ANZ

I have made several purchases from MarketPlace without a problem, using PayPal.

I am from New Zealand.

You could try buying a MS/Xbox gift card, loading that on to your acc and then buying using the balance.

No, it's more widespread. It's the 3D secure check that is failing with some card issuers.

Be patient with them, this stuff can be hard for a small business to handle 🤣

I just load my Steam wallet in advance and voila. Is there not an equivalent for the MS Store?

Good thinking - But - how could we buy it when that is the problem with MS purchases

The OP said he could use his payment methods successfully in the MSstore but not via the msfs marketplace. Or that is what I understood.

Also I think you can buy MS/Xbox giftcards from non MS sources.

That is correct MS store is OK.

I've now got the marketplace to recognise PayPal and take me to Authenticator to carry out the proper authentication.

Unfortunately, it still only gets to the black screen with the dreaded three flashing white dots.

It seems that the marketplace is linking to the MS store.

I haven't given up yet, but I am getting close.

I finally found the answer to my problem. I run a VPN.

I now go to the marketplace and make my selection to purchase.

I then disconnect my VPN go back to the marketplace and select purchase by other means and hit enter.

This takes me to PayPal and the purchase is made.

I then wait for the installation to complete and reactivate the VPN.

Cheers
