Here is another excellent video demonstration of the function and the use of weather radar when planning to divert around storms at night.

Hi Bob,

Is this using a Laminar oem aircraft or an add-on like Toliss?

I do see Toliss at the bottom left.

I just tried a flight with the Toliss A319 in an area of heavy precip t-storms etc and the radar did not display anything.

Thanks, Dave

It’s truely fantastic! I had such a blast 2 days ago on Vatsim after a departure from Marseille. There were a lot of storm-cells in the vicinity. Another pilot requested a different route « due to weather ». That must have been another XP-user I guess 😄 It was so extremely immersive to scan for the weather-returns and try to avoid the big cells. And also very thrilling, because, as we know, in XP it can have bad consequences if we fly through a CB 🙂

You can open the XP-map and make appear the areas where there are weather returns based on Nexrad. You should see them in the Toliss A319. However some have noticed that there are some areas with heavy storms with a lack of weather-returns. I guess and hope that this should be fine-tuned in one of the next versions.
