Hey,Yeah ive flown on several A320's. They are nice planes. One downside is, with the airline i was flying with at least, that the seats seem to have a bar that goes across the seat back near the bottom, ths can be a bit uncomfortable. Other than that it was fine, Airbus seem to make good planes.Dave

If you've ever flown on a 737 before, you might notice that the fuselage is wider (although still 3+3 seating in Y). Much more wing movement too, since the wings are made of carbon composites (to a greater degree than the 73's- at least the -3,-4,-5 models), and also the use of FBW for the aelerons (no control wires to worry about with wing flex).Bruce.

Thanks for the comparative info. I also understand that A318/19/20 have an interesting engine sound. I will listen for it.Incidentally, my friend works right next to Jeffco airport and gets to watch aircraft take off and land. Must be nice I said to him.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

I have flown Frontier many times as it is a great airline to fly. The jets are comfortable and the service is superb! As i am from the Denver Area, welcome to Denver!!! :-)You will most likely be flying on an A319 as this is what Frontier is switching to exclusively. They have a few A318's left, though.

Frontier is very nice. The width is about the same as other airlines, but you generally get a couple more inches of legroom than others. The DirectTV for $5 is pretty cool too. They fly 4 flights from STL-DEN on Friday. The 6:15, 10:35, and 7:40 flights are on a A319 and the 2:05 flight is a A318. They are pretty much the same except a few more rows on the A319.

And actually it's not THIS friday it's next friday, July 6. I was mistaken on the date when I posted the other day. I'd track it on FlightAware if I wasn't on it. :)Looks like I'll be on an A319. Will be interesting to see what's on the tail art.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

And don't forget that if you end up on one of the A318's, you may brag you "were riding the short bus" ;-)Sorry . . . I couldn't resist. The A318 is Airbus Industrie's shortest bus.

As>i am from the Denver Area, welcome to Denver!!! :-)>Been out there many many times now. I was last out there in March, but I drove then--all the way across Kansas, which I find fun. But flying is better.>You will most likely be flying on an A319 as this is what>Frontier is switching to exclusively. They have a few A318's>left, though. Why are they selling the A318's? Are they needing more seats on their flights I guess? Those A318's are pretty new aircraft, I wonder who will buy them. Maybe Horizon Air,>Frontier's affiliate, will start using them alonside their>CRJ's.>Consistancy. Entirely. They simply one one solid aircraft type so that all of their pilots are fluent in flying a particular type of aircraft. It is the same reason as the airline I work for, ExpressJet, uses exclusively the ERJ 145LR for Continental Express and now the XR for all of their independant operations. The only diff between the LR and XR is fuel range. So any ExpressJet pilot can hop onto any route as needed and not have to worry about type rating.Frontier may very well keep the A318's. I have not heard that they are selling them. Just that all future purchases will be the A319. They have already retired all of the Boeings they had and sold them off to have an entirely Airbus fleet. I believe Frontier is the only U.S. Domestic airline to do so. Not sure on that fact, though.

I jumped the gun last week, my flight is THIS friday (tomorrow). :)I will post back here about what equipment (A319 or A318) and how it all went. As always I will be doing some plane spotting the whole time. Since it's the 10:35 am flight from KSTL-->KDEN it is probably an A319.I wonder how hard it would be to convince the flight crew to let me sit in the jumpseat during cruise? :) Probably a snowball's chance in h*ll.Would be nice to see a 'bus cockpit in action though.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

they most def won't let you sit up there as its actually against the regs (i think its against the regs, don't know the FAR) but when you board ask an FA if she/he can ask the captain if you could have a quick look at the plane, and ask a few questions. They let me whnever I go up.
