Perhaps a novel idea-but for $39 US you can join Aopa.http://www.aopa.org/join/benefits.htmlIn return you get one of the best ,thickest aviation magazines monthly, the flight one Cessna Cardinal for fsx (last years sweepstakes airplane)http://www.aopa.org/sweeps/fly/and the use of their flight planner that was just improved greatly with real weather overlay:Plus you end up supporting General Aviation.. :-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194156.jpgGeofaMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

I currently use three flight planners. I don't like any of the FSX planners so I use real ones.1. A paper flight plan using a whiz wheel to do the calculations. This is a fun, manual method! 2. AirNav VFR. Only good for Australians but is pretty cool as you create your plans over WAC, VNC, VTCs, etc.3. Copilot for IPhone/IPod Touch. (http://www.ljd-tech.com/copilot/) I setup the FSX Eurostar in it and have had a couple of flights planned using it.That AOPA planner looks pretty cool though!Steven.

The Aopa planner is really cool. I have been playing with a little and it does some neat stuff-like update your flight plan on the fly as you change altitudes (and it displays the wind barbs for that altitude) along with having a terrain map, and showing aopa friendly airports on the route. I have been trying to get more info on the Jeppesen (AOPA) planner like what support, if any, it has for maps and planning in Australia. I can't see much. It says "worldwide' but when you can have a world series that is only played by Americans... :-)Steven.
