September 10, 2025Sep 10 I recently picked up the FSS 727 package and I am having a lot of fun with it. I have always been a fan of the older steam gauge airplanes and this satisfies that desire to some extent. Overall a nice model but it might still be a bit simplified over the real thing and I remember the old Captain Sim 727 Professional package from way back in the FSX days was a lot more of a handful. One thing that I am a bit perplexed about is the lack of a non hush kit model for the Passenger version. Ironically I am pretty sure the freighter version has both a non hush kit and hush kit versions available but not the passenger version. Don't get me wrong its really cool that we have a hush kit model available to fly but a plane like the 727 definitely needs a non hush kit model as well. I sure hope it comes in a future update! I have also heard that FSS is going all in on the 727 with the Super 27 model coming very soon and eventually they will be working on the 100's as well. With this is mind they certainly can do a non hush kit model for the 200 passenger version.
September 10, 2025Sep 10 They have indicated that they would consider it as an option - so hold thumbs !!!!

Maybe they can make it user selectable like the winglets? If not a separate model selectable by the painters works as well. Eventually different engine options would be cool as well. I believe I read that the 9 engines are modeled at least for sounds. This is the weakest engine option and I don't think it was even standard on the newer Enhanced versions. 14 series JT8D's were most common I think but some had 15's. 17 and especially the 17R engine options were almost hot rods. The up engines really help a lot in hot and high situations. Not sure if it has ever been disclosed what version of the JT8D was modeled? As the model currently is its a real struggle keeping it in the air with a full payload taking off from a hot and high airport.
September 10, 2025Sep 10 When FSS first released the 727, it was a non hush kit model...as you can see in many of the photos in their slideshow while loading in the sim. They had their first update and all the models in both the cargo and passenger all went husk kitted. Funny to see an original delivery repaint someone did that looks like that delivery day except hushkitted, major realism killer!

Funny to see an original delivery repaint someone did that looks like that delivery day except hushkitted, major realism killer! I did notice that and I was like..what the heck? In fact when I bought it I assumed the non hush kitted models were in it but to my surprise it was not. I thought the cargo models still had the option and I have seen several repaints with pictures with them. Sad to hear even the cargo model is now only hush kitted. I think hush kits are great if I am flying a repaint from one that really had them but it needs to be available for older repaints and hush kits were not a thing for 75% of its career. Hopefully this is not PMDG 73NG vibes all over again. PMDG never produced a non winglet model for FS2020 quoting because very few exist with them now days. Really just laziness with the developers more than anything. I did read on an FS news site that the Super 27 is in Beta testing and will be released very soon. The 100 both in cargo and passenger version is pretty much confirmed. Between all that work Hopefully they will reintroduce the non hush kit models in a future update. I can imagine the 727 purist are not happy about those 3 foot extensions on the exhaust tips. Especially if the non hush kit model was available before.
Thursday at 07:59 PM5 days Is there an update to this? I really want to buy this but if there's no way to have the NON hush kit, I won't. The hush kits look so weird on the 727, most of them didn't have it. I want to do some high end repaints of Australian liveries.Thanks.

They recently announced a version 2 of the 727 with lots of updates and improvements. No real information on what the improvements or other details or any sort of time line. I guess we will know more in the future! I hope they throw in a non hush kit model at some point soon.
Thursday at 08:24 PM5 days Yeah, I wrote to them a bit ago and I'll see what they say. I'll let you know what they said. As an Autistic aviation guy, I can't look past this glaring issue hehe. Other than that, it looks quite good actually.
