September 14, 2025Sep 14 I fly a lot of small GA planes out of smaller airports in FS20 One immersion killer for me is that Asobo has given these small fields gigantic control towers. An example is KCCR MSFS20 😐 Real world 👍 Is there a global mod out there that can replace the gigantic stock towers with smaller more sensible ones at these small airports? If not then is there a config file held locally that is tweakable to achieve this? Sort of "tell" FS20 to generate small towers?
September 14, 2025Sep 14 No, Sir, to all questions! You would have to change each airport within dev mode. Eagerly awaiting the reopening of world hub for FS2024 to be able to correct such things.

September 15, 2025Sep 15 When is the world hub actually going to happen? Haven’t they been talking about this for over a year?? Edited September 15, 2025Sep 15 by Purr AMD 5830X Nvidia RTX 3060 Win 11
September 15, 2025Sep 15 Another immersion killer is cathedral sized churches in small villages. At least in Finland...

They said, scenery data in FS2020 and FS2024 should be largely synchronous for the world hub to make sense (as the improvements made by users have to be checked by staff and then go online for all users, ideally they should affect both versions). That said, don't expect edited airports to be on thew same immersion level as handmade addons - at least in the first version of world hub, only the airport layout could be changed, no scenery objects (like hangars and apron clutter) could be altered. I hope, that we'll see the new world hub still in 2025. Edited September 17, 2025Sep 17 by meerkat
September 17, 2025Sep 17 Bullfrogsim made a sweet regional/small airport control tower library. I don't know if I've seen any developer use them yet! I wish we could just drop some into airports with these silly massive towers. https://flightsim.to/file/89534/control-tower-scenery-object-library | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

There is that other great mod that reduces the height of all the trees in the sim to make them realistic size. It does this on a global scale. So I was wondering if it could be possible to create a mod that tells the sim to spit out towers 70% smaller at these smaller airports. I guess thats a very complicated thing. We will just have to put up with small strips having towers taller than Singapore Changi 😅

No-go on doing something simple like replacing the model file... since MSFS will just automatically fix that next time it pulls anything from the server I think?

If it was a mod (like the tree height mod) then the sim will look there first. But I sense its not at all easy otherwise it would have been done by now. How is it in FS24? Still the same huge GA airport towers?
