Results don't lie - I stink at landing the A319 - help!

Last ten flights I'm averaging a 293.8 landing rate.  Any tips to help me put her on the ground a little better?  Fenix bus of course.

More than fine? Are you the quality manager of Ryanair??? 😁

Bearing in mind its not judged on landing rate. Just get it in the touch down zone. Obviously in the sim we don't have a hard landing read out.

Same…I flare at 30 and float immediately. Reduce power and slam to the ground…

Have you tried flaps 3? 320SimPilot said in a video he prefers flaps 3 IRL so I gave it a try. The result is the Plane is less floaty during landing and easier to grease it.

Interesting, based on the size of the airplane, regardless of the runway lengths, we aim for the centerline and touchdown marker (1,000 FT). Those two wide white bars are located at 1,000 ft from the threshold, providing the aiming point for landing and distance cues. As an example, many companies have in their SOP a mandatory go-around if you didn't touchdown within the 3,000 ft marker. Landing performance compromised.
About landing, some airplanes that touch down in excess of 700 FT/MIN will qualify for a hard landing. There is no gauge available for the pilots, but in some FMCs' maintenance pages, that information can be retrieved, and maintenance will act accordingly. Some don't, and if an entry is made in the aircraft log, an inspection is performed.
As an example regarding your landing rate, I don't know how it is evaluated, but if it were 293 FT/MIN, it would be fine. In our airplane, if it were in an autoland situation and exceeded 300 FT/MIN, we had to right up the AP as an unsatisfactory landing.
In the real world, it takes practice, and there is always a chance of something we don't like.
So, imho, I would take it and hope for the best next time.

same here. I find it easier with the a320 than the 319. after the fl;are it plonks down on the runway with a bounce often.

@Tony P Hi - I use FSI Panel to practice landings. I found it salutary : I always thought my landings were ok, turns out they’ve been execrable.

With the help of FSI Panel I’ve become much more self-aware especially of the importance of precision. My landings have improved but tbh they still suck 🤪

Thrustmaster Airbus Edition throttles etc, TPR pedals, MiniCockpit FCU, WinWings FCU, WinWings Orion 2 F15E, WinWings A320 sticks.

I think maybe the key is to flare just a little. Because the problem is when I flare in the a319 iae I gain altitude. And then when I put the nose down after that it’s all messed up. i’m going to try flaring just barely, and cutting power, and see how that works.

update: that didn’t work

Where did you get that "293.8" landing rate from?

Tried this - was somewhat successful - thank you.

My VA uses BlackBox app and that tells me my landing rate with each flight.  Just took the average of the last 10.

I also own FSI Panel and enjoy practicing with it - thanks.
