April 9, 200917 yr isn't it amazing how quickly the ariane marketing dept goes from "our products are the best and most advanced, you are just a stupid user who doesn't understand real world operations" to quietly disappearing when they are called out on the obvious lies. Funny, captain sim is the EXACT same way, with the exact same characters showing their heads when a new cs product is released.
April 9, 200917 yr Okay, since this argument keeps going around and around, here's the deal, look what I've just coughed up for:Just installed it in FSX, and just emailed Robert (Avsim reviews editor) and said I would review it, so look out for that one coming up. First comment on a problem with it you don't have to wait for though, I tried to buy it from the Ariane site via their pay system and it wouldn't let me complete the transaction (kept asking me to select a different currency), so I went to SimMarket and bought it from there, using the same card. Also worth noting is the fact that the same card was used earlier to buy something from Flight 1 and something from MAAM, so there you go, that's one thing that Ariane have stuffed up straight away. Maybe that's why the plane on the Ariane logo appears to be going into a nosedive, but I guess we'll find out eh?I've one review to finish off for this weekend and then I'll get right on it guys (and girls) :( Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 9, 200917 yr Sounds good! :( That's just what I've been waiting for, a AVSIM review. :( Greetings,DocNobby
April 9, 200917 yr Finally! Hopefully this will answer all those questions and we all can move on. Nathan
April 9, 200917 yr Might be a bit braver that you think, and it might be a short review too, the activation process from SimMarket doesn't work LOL - I've got a ticket in on it.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 9, 200917 yr I nearly bought this aircraft, even after all the bad things i've heard about this company.Had the sales forms partially filled in, and started to read the FAQ's. Then I read this:http://www.arianedesign.com/Content.do?sta...activate%20once It says I can only activate onceQDoes this mean if I havea hard disk crash that I cannot acticate it ever again?AIf your hard disk crashes you need to contact us again for us to re-enable activation but this will only be for special cases. We will monitor multiple activation requests or attempts and treat them accordingly. After you activate it you can still use the software only on one PC - the files are not able to be copied to another PC because they will be rendered unuseable. We do not give out links or new pass keys. The activation system must run from the PC that ordered it.I will never buy a product from any developer who says I can only activate MY purchase once, especially a product as expensive as Ariane's. I quite often upgrade my PC and re-format it etc, I've re-activated all my Flight 1, PMDG and Real Air products several times with no problems at all. I read somewhere else on the Ariane website that they will re-activate a 2nd time but they will charge you for doing so. Thieves as far as I'm concerned, reading things like that make me believe all the lack of support and personal attack stories.Patiently awaiting the PMDG 737NGX :(
April 9, 200917 yr Sounds good! :( That's just what I've been waiting for, a AVSIM review. :( Greetings,DocNobbyAbsolutely - an in-depth review, to bottom all the questions. Take as long as it takes, Al. Petraeus
April 9, 200917 yr I agree, I emailed them several times about this activation process but never got a reply. I really like the look of the model and wanted something to fly in FSX until PMDG's new 737 NG comes out. I asked politely and clearly about it, explaining that I overclock and upgrade quite a bit. Nothing from them. I recently ran out of activations for my PMDG 747, one quick email to them, and all was good again. No arguments, no fuss...class act all the way. Same for Flight One and Real Air..tried to re-install my Just Flight 340, said I ran out of activations and would have to pay to reactivate it...no thanks..no more purchases from Just Flight Download store for me...I really don't care how much, even $2 is too much when you already dished out premium cash for a product..personal opinion time, if your going to deal in downloadable software, figure the re-activation costs into your price, don't nickle and dime a customer who has already paid for said product. As far as I'm concerned, that will be a deal breaker for me :( Larry Larry Falcone No matter where you go............... ...................there you are............ Buckaroo Banzai
April 9, 200917 yr Just a quick update. Robert Whitwell (Avsim review head honcho and the man with the power to say yay or nay) has OK'd this one, so despite me having bought it personally, it'll be an Avsim review, assuming I can get it working LOLAl Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 9, 200917 yr Yeah, I would also like to see an AVSIM review of the Ariane 737. We all know about the controversy surrounding customer service etc but it would be great find out the merits and the bad points of the product itself. April 10, 200917 yr so there you go, that's one thing that Ariane have stuffed up straight away. Maybe that's why the plane on the Ariane logo appears to be going into a nosedive, but I guess we'll find out eh?I've one review to finish off for this weekend and then I'll get right on it guys (and girls) :( AlYou sound like you'll be very unbiased :(......NOT!Ariane's uses "World Pay" to process credit cards and they have nothing to do with Ariane Designs anymore than Paypal has anything to do with SimMarket. If your card didn't run, the problem is between your card and "World Pay". I have never had any problem with World Pay. Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)
April 10, 200917 yr Signmanbob.....I agree. Should be an interesting, totally unbiased review.....I have had no problems with the credit card processing system either.

That is about standard for the industry now days. Most downloadable or even CD aircraft software has to be activated over the internet in some way."We will monitor multiple activation requests or attempts and treat them accordingly"This statement means that if someone tries to activate it nine times in one month, they may look into what is going on.Also standard for the industry."After you activate it you can still use the software only on one PC - the files are not able to be copied to another PC because they will be rendered unuseable. We do not give out links or new pass keys. The activation system must run from the PC that ordered it."OK, now listen up. This one's a little difficult. This means that if you are using an Ariane aircraft on one of your PCs, then you cannot load it on you nephew's PC so he can fly it at the same time. You will have to buy another copy for your nephew." the files are not able to be copied to another PC because they will be rendered unuseable. We do not give out links or new pass keys. The activation system must run from the PC that ordered it."Now this relates directly to trying to run the single aircraft license on your and your nephew's PC at the same time. Again, this means that his won't work unless you actually buy one for him. Also pretty standard for the industry.Try activating PMDG's software on two separate computers. Not a good idea.Basically what this statement is saying "in a nutshell" is...run one copy of the software on one computer.Normal re-activations due to computer upgrades, Windows reloads, etc. will be always honored. On the other hand, they will need an explanation why you replaced your harddrive nine times in one month and they will take that on a case by case basis.I have all of the Ariane products for FS9 and FSX. I had no problem at all getting them re-activated when I upgraded my computer. Actually, I've upgraded twice without problems with re-activation, but the first time I didn't have as many of their products. All my products were re-activated within two weeks for free and would have been one week if I got the requests to them sooner.Hope this helps. April 10, 200917 yr "You sound like you'll be very unbiased ......NOT!"That's unnecessary and has NO place in this forum. Alan has spent his own money, quite a lot of it I might add, to review a product for us. I see no indication that he will be anything but fair and unbiased. I find it sickening that someone (signmanbob) who hunts down Ariane threads across the internet in constant defense of the company could possibly accuse anyone else of being bias. I have searched your screen name here and other FS forums and noticed that you have made it a habit to defend Ariane with the same repetative technique........seems like Alan is as unbiased as they come in comparison.Sorry if you've got to delete this Geoff, but c'mon.
