PS5 release of MSFS2024 - good news for VR?

Featured Replies

I wonder this actually in particular a good news for us VR people.

I only use PC but I know Sony has PSVR headsets for PlyaStations, and VR in MSFS2024 hopefully could be a big attraction for PSVR market. This may finally give MS/Asobo a real incentive to prioritize VR development.

One thing is for sure -- I have to think one would want a PS5 Pro for VR in MSFS

I would think yes, The sim must be optimized alot for the PSVR to run smooth on the playstation, so i think that will go back to pc users and vr. Just a small concern the visuals will be dialed back for the consol priority.

This is great for the MSFS and VR or not, community.

What is a shame is how MS-Asobo treat the Xbox or Pc customers with a gamepad, after 5 years (FS20-24) the rear triggers still are half path each trigger of the same axe, and after ask for that many times since then. And they pretend that you use the triggers like pedals, where you don´t know where is the position or the amount movement that you have done. If someone can fly an helicopter decently in that way would be incredible, or move the collective with buttons and not an axe in the gamepad….

The same for plane thrust if you want to move them with triggers.

I use in PC right stick for pedals and right trigger with collective and thanks to FSUIPC (not available in Xbox), it is a full-precise movement, but we shouldn´t need FSUIPC only for that basic control, that is normal in other flight simulators or car racing simulators, where the trigger is the thrust obviously since always.

And they want go now with the PS5 gamepads haha, making people frustrated and make them think that they can´t fly a helicopter or an airplane well.

This should push Sony to further develop their VR technology.  Once users know VR is possible with MSFS and try the Sony headset the demand for improvements will grow louder.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

is there a Sony VR headset for the PS 5 PRO? I thought they had discontinued the PS VR? the MS Xbox has none and the xbox division chief is not interested in VR.
