October 10, 2025Oct 10 There is not much footage of the sounds in the flight deck, they are mostly from outside or in the cabin.

I don't know how to fix it or get the sounds to come back on... happens after the TOD pause. This has happened to me also. Escape and then hit resume flight and you will get your sound back. With the boris sounds in the video he did the same but the sounds did not come back on.
October 10, 2025Oct 10 This would be a cheap upgrade for me, as I only need the GE90 sounds for the 777F. Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
October 10, 2025Oct 10 Is anyone going to wait to see what PMDG's upcoming sound update for the 777 is like? Although I think Boris's Sound Set for the 737 is excellent, I'm going to wait for a comparison. What about the 777 sound update?: We are in the final approval stages for a sound package update that will initially appear in the 777-300ER, 777F and 777-200LR packages. This is a complete rebuild and upgrade to the sound environment in the airplane based upon hundreds of on-site recordings, intricate code work, a metric-<bleep>-ton of audio engineering work and hundreds of hours of adapting, processing and blending to get the sound package to please the ears of our 777-experienced testers and on-site experts. As we near the end of testing and fitness, we have had a few really hard knee-knockers to clear that have slowed us down on this first iteration of the new sound methodology for the entire PMDG product line- but we think the wait will prove to be worth it. One of the challenges we hit was that our initial sound recordings were taken at a higher fidelity than MSFS would tolerate- and that had us chasing our tail on a few issues that eventually were cured by stepping the sound sampling down to match what the MSFS SDK wants to see. (sometimes the simplest cures are the dumbest... this would be one of those moments. Oops.) Another, even larger challenge we faced was to make sure that the sound environment sounds like it sounds on the airplane, and not simply serving as a mimic the high-frequency-distorted sound you hear in most youtube videos. If you have an opportunity to sit on the flight deck in flight, the audio environment is far more broad-spectrum than what can be picked up by the average consumer grade electet microphones, so we not only had to make a heavy investment into studio grade equipment, we had to then make the investment in studio grade processing and expertise in order to ensure the sound sampling and mixing was done in such a way that you will experience the entire broad spectrum of sound as if you were sitting in the airplane, rather than hearing a high-frequency-biased recording on youtube. We think you will love it- and I can't wait to start rolling this out to you in a few weeks. One of my favorite things to do with this new sound-set is to wander the cabin during the climb and hear how the richness of the sound changes as you move from the cockpit to the forward/mid/aft cabin and back. I've spent a lot of time wandering about a lot of airplanes in my flying career and I am thoroughly impressed by why our sound team has pulled off here. The extra wait time has been worth it- and the truly great news is that we really only have to invent the wheel the first time. We are already beginning to test the new sound environment in the 737 update that is in testing... It will be nice to check this off the task list! October 10, 2025Oct 10 I would love to be able to check out the updated PMDG soundset, but I have no idea when this is going to be released. My 777F has been in the hangar for weeks now because of the total lack of touchdown and rollout sounds, and I really want to fly it again as soon as possible. October 10, 2025Oct 10 I was hoping to hear the reverse thrust and touchdown sounds from the VC but I think there was only one distant external view of the aircraft landing in the Boris trailer. Anyone know of other videos of this particular sequence/sounds? Hopefully there is going to be another video to showcase these sounds. Overall, the sound pack looks very promising. I don’t understand why you would completely refuse to fly the airplane at all just because of a lack of touchdown/rollout sounds - something that only occurs in the last 30 or 45 seconds of what would (typically) be a multi-hour flight. For whatever reason, I do have those sounds on my 777F installation. (MSFS 2024). I hear them on every single landing without fail. October 10, 2025Oct 10 I wish he'd release it. Its with tubers and influencers now, and is withheld from paying customers. I hate this new 21st century business practice. It sounds great. I have many days and nights sitting next to a (and slightly in front of) a GE90 in business class. The startup, takeoff, and climb power reductions, are perfect...like I'm back in a window seat. The problem is, PMDG will be releasing an update for free. And, if it's good enough, well, $15 is $15, and I'm lazy. Oh, and those tubers you're favoring now?, every one will be doing another video about the new PMDG sounds also. My business consultation to this developer would be: Drop the influencer marketing hype BS Fire the person who told you to do that. Tubers will still make videos of it for you....they need the clicks regardless. Your two videos are enough. They have shown everyone how great your product is. Get this thing on the market NOW, TODAY, Friday, before Bobby R erases half your market. Don't believe me? Ask any of several developers in the 90s and 2000s who made software for sale...what happened to your business model when MS bundled a free version with Windows? This one is different. You have a clock ticking on this one. Keep up the great work. October 10, 2025Oct 10 You do not understand because you are not me. Small things make a BIG difference to me (think misalignment of runway centreline markings), and the lack of touchdown and rollout sounds is a deal breaker when I have two 737s that are working just fine. To be fair, I cannot remember if these sounds have always been missing, or whether they disappeared after an update. You do have them because you not only own the 77F. Those who only have the 77F and none of the other variants, will have no touchdown sounds.

True but PMDG has shown how they simply cannot get updates out without waffling for a year and pretending that what they do simply cannot be done faster.. which doesn’t work in today’s market. Other devs can get stuff done fast. Given PMDGs style, we might be 2-3 months away from their own update… and at least 3-4 blog posts telling us how amazing they are 😂 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

To be fair the sounds of the engine are relatively quiet from the cockpit and engines were what people would want to hear. There are a couple streamers though that got early access and streamed it, of course from the cockpit as well, so that might help you decide
