October 17, 2025Oct 17 Has anyone asked as yet why I should have to buy this for good sounds? Rather than pmdg having this in the first place?
October 17, 2025Oct 17 I'm looking forward to a comparison video. I know what I get with Boris audio as I own several of his products. I am also aware what we get with PMDG from decades of owning there products. Sound has never been a strong suit with them. Sound are always going to be subjective to the end user and system hardware. They are months behind schedule on it. Further, the first release is for the GE only. No timetable given for the RR and PW. Knowing PMDG, expect mid 2026 at the earliest. They have utterly failed in the sound department and have failed for years. The noise got so loud (no pun) they went out and hired people and bought equipment to address it. This is an ongoing issue with this company that they are usually years behind other developers since MSFS released 5 years ago. They need to inject new blood at the top IMO to take them into a more out of the box thinking way of doing things. Their EFB on the 777 for example. RSR went on and on about how innovative it is. lol, it’s about as basic as it gets and every other dev out there beats it by a long shot. RSR is no Steve Jobs. He is more like Tim Cook, keeping the company behind. Eric

I wasn’t going to wait more and more weeks, having waited so long already. The difference between Boris sound set and the PMDG sound set is amazing, Boris sound set adds enormously to the immersion. So glad I got it, and look only a week after release and there is a huge update. I doubt I will bother trying PMDG sound set when it releases. Greg Clark
October 18, 2025Oct 18 I will definitely try the upcoming PMDG sound set when it is released, but the Boris Audioworks sound package is definitely a significant upgrade when compared to the existing sounds. October 18, 2025Oct 18 Wow! Blew me out of the water with these sounds! As someone who spent too much time on United PW 777s the deep hum taxi sounds gives me flashbacks! thank you Boris!!!! Edited October 18, 2025Oct 18 by UAL4life

October 18, 2025Oct 18 I don't understand why people get so frustrated that we are given an option for much improved sounds on the 777 and MD-80 (leonardo) at an extra cost. Yes, it would be nice if they came with the addon. But market innovators have found ways to improve payware airplanes. It's kind of like being frustrated that you still have to buy payware planes since you bought the simulator itself. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
October 18, 2025Oct 18 Exactly, and no one is forced to buy an extra soundset. The sounds that come with the 777 are serviceable, they generally sound like a 777. If someone is like me, and audio is one of the most important parts, it’s well worth the relatively small price for a incredible upgrade. October 18, 2025Oct 18 I am still a bit puzzled about the rather faint sounds from some of the VC switches and dials. The sound associated with the left side landing light switch is rather faint, and I can hardly hear the APU selector at all. Maybe it is supposed to be almost soundless? Maybe I have been spoiled by the satisfying "clunk" and "click" sounds in the 737NG VC (and I am talking about the PMDG sounds here, not the Boris Audioworks sound package)? October 18, 2025Oct 18 How do we give feedback for future updates? Although the slat sound is very accurate, its actually a bit quiet.

From my point of view, it isn't frustration at having the option. Options are good. It is just that we shouldnt have to pay for extra/upgraded sounds for these so called 'premium products' in the first place. At those prices they should be good enough straight out of the box shouldn't they? That is where the frustration lies - nothing to do with Boris. This is one of the reason I never buy addons that aren’t on sale. I snagged the 77F for $35. So if I decide I can’t live with the sounds, adding the Boris pack is no big deal.
