Well said, sir!

”We” are perpetually unsatisfied and will only become so when we get perfection for free.

Indeed. Mathjis is really 'kicking up the dust' over there and keeps posting arrogant answers to anyone who's mentioning alternatives to their narrative...

Why did they hire him??

I seriously doubt that their 'updated sounds' would surpase Boris' masterpiece.

Do you actually expect someone to pump up someone else’s product as better than their own??

Besides, Mathjis has never truly represented the products under his care honestly.

I don't understand why people get so frustrated that we are given an option for much improved sounds on the 777 and MD-80 (leonardo) at an extra cost.  Yes, it would be nice if they came with the addon.  But market innovators have found ways to improve payware airplanes.  It's kind of like being frustrated that you still have to buy payware planes since you bought the simulator itself.

This^^^^

For me I only had the -300 and the fines were absolutely fine.  I know there are others like Christopher and a number of others with the -F only who had significant sound problem and got these to "fix" their issues and that's unacceptable.  For me personally though while the wiper sounds in the original PMDG soundpack were like nails on a chalkboard the rest of the sounds were absolutely fine to me on a 5.1 system with optical to a dedicated Dolby receiver.  I got Boris's because going back to FS2004 and the PSS777 I have been buying soundpacks from add-on devs as "typically" someone doing exclusively sound vs complete aircraft development usually does a better job with their specialty...

Been that way for as long as I have been buying add-ons that I can remember and in my case I did not "HAVE" to buy anything, I chose to.  However to re-iterate, people should NOT have to buy this to "fix" sound issues with PMDG's offering.  Everyone should at least have the default working sounds without needing to buy an add-on for basic functionality.

What triggers the cabin chatter? I've got the CAB button on as shown, but sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't

Knob out (no light), emergency lights armed, passengers are loaded per PMDG interface, you are located within the cabin. All 4 must be true.

Thanks. Can the chatter not be heard when inside the flight deck?

Of course not. You don't even hear the amplified cabin announcements with closed cabin doors in real life, how are you supposed to be able to hear unamplified chatter of passengers?

This would depend on if the cockpit door is open or closed.

Sorry, that's what I meant...with the door open.

In the 777 I assume it would be unlikely. The cabin starts quite a ways back from the door and the first entrance is not used to board anyone, just the business class passengers. And these are usually not the loud ones.

Version 1.2 is out -

  • Fixed TCAS being inaudible
  • Further tweaked engine sound fadeout curve with speed
  • Made pax chatter no longer audible in the jumpseat
  • Tweaked GE-90 115B "metal" whine sound
  • Made ge-90 spool up change volume a bit more dramatically
  • Oxygen test sound is no longer looped when button is held down, which prevents sound from playing if variable gets stuck ON
  • Made slat drag sound only be audible around the slats
  • Made rumble from takeoff different and louder in the rear cabin
  • Tweaked cockpit touchdown volumes
  • Fixed 200ER GE-90 not being affected by headphone simulation in MSFS2024
  • Tweaked all 3 engine options with minor fixes and quality improvements
  • Made APU even louder

Awesome, what a dedication to quality. And PMDG still has nothing to show for.

They really disappointed me with how they handled this. I am grateful someone took this on and made the product complete.
