Recommended Posts

Guest Milton

Hi Brian :-)I believe Mike is working on a dhc4? Caribou ... and is doing a great job with it. So, I was looking for another ... I have access to a Buffalo and I am considering that one if no one else has got one started by the Fall. If anyone would like to do the Buffalo, I would be happy to point them to the resources.RegardsMilton

Well, here we are in 2006 and as yet NO ONE has created a DHC5 Buffalo that can compare with Milton Shupe's Dash7 Project.Yes there are a few DHC5s out there, but from any objective viewpoint they are at most extreemly minimalistic versions which cannot compare with the fine work done on the Dash7. I have been looking for a Buffalo since I started in flightsims many years ago and unfortunatly there are none that even bring the flight dynamics even close.I certainly hope that you have not given up on this project Milton, and should you ever decide to go ahead with it, I'd be more than willing to help research for you, in that I have already spoken with many museums including the Canada Aviation Museum about this aircraft and they do have a very large archive of related materials and sources to explore, and there are a few projects involved in the restoration of these underestimated and really capable aircraft.

The Buffalo and Caribou are both great aircraft that I love. I have done a lot of research on both and may one day take up such a project. For now, I have the Spartan near release and the Dash 7 VC version upgrade about 60 days away. I am planning a slow down in my activities and focus on retirement for a while then, but one never knows. :-)
