I don't fly 2020 anymore and want to clean up some SDD space. Could there be any regrets? Why not just install 2024 and run them side by side for a while? I mean I've been all in with 2024 on day 2. But I mostly fly GA and bizjets. I'd say vs pre-WU16 2020, that 2024 has a slight regression in image clarity (like aerial/satellite tiles) but much higher resolution overall. It's got more realistic physics, vastly better AI generated "filler" (like it adds cliff faces to otherwise oddly stretched mountainsides, adds rocks, bushes, trees, corn fields, beaches, ponds with rocks etc). The seasonal changes alone in 2024 are worth it to me, much better than bijan or rex in 2020. Most 2020 addons run fine in 2024. But we are starting to really see some nice 2024 addons appear. 2026 is going to be a great year for airliner and GA fans. I wrote a list of upcoming GA addons the other day at work on my very short break making phat stacks of IOUs... (In no particular order) Just Flight Learjet 45 Contrail Falcon 50 Black Square, C208, Twin Commander/Turbine, single piston commander FSReborn E55P Phenom 300E Flysimware Lancair Legacy (Starhawk glass cockpit and analog panel variations including Reno Racer turbocharged variant!!) Flysimware Piper Chieftain A2A Mystery Bird (TBA - never done before by them) SWS PC12 NG, Kodiak 900 Flight FX Challenger, Embraer 145, something I can't mention Taog AS365 Dauphin helicopter..... PMDG 737 for 2024 I saw a snipped on facebook too 🙂 And there's COUNTLESS sceneries popping up daily on the marketplace, or your favorite vendor Free repaints, mods, aircraft etc on flightsim.to | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 30, 2025Oct 30 I recently uninstalled 2020 to free up some space. Then decided to reinstall it because I bought a new SSD. Just keep in mind if you do this that it takes forever to reinstall 2020. An all day download, then to the Content Manager with all those world updates and other stuff you may want. It doesn't affect 2024 in any way just being there. Also takes forever to boot up. i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
