question about repainting

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hi,how can I open a texture .bmp file? I use Photoshop Elements and did some repaints already for Fly! 2 without any problem. Unfortunately I can't open any of FS2002 texture files. The error message says, it's a wrong file format.Do I need to convert the texture .bmp files first or what else am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Use Imagetool.exe to convert a texture to a Photoshop readable format, such as 32bit targa (to also get the alphachannel used for the chrome effect). Should be located somewhere in your fs2002 pro directory. When converting back, be sure to convert to whatever original format, with mipmaps.

Karl, thank you very much for your help. Unfortunately all the gmax folders are empty, but I found it on the cd's in the gmax.cab.Maybe something went wrong with my installation. Anyway, for now it works for me.Best regards and happy painting :-wave
