How do you turn off the light !!! ???

G'day gentlemen!I fly Jan Visser's DC-3 with the R4D dual panel for a virtual airline, therefore, involving a fair number of night flights.Do you enjoy driving down the highway at night with the dome light left on? Didn't think so, neither do I.How do you turn off the cockpit light yet leave the instrument panel lamps lit? Turning off the "Battery" and "Generator" switches on the overhead will achieve the desired effect but it also turns off too many other things too!!On a night flight, it's MUCH more pleasing to the eyes.PLEASE tell me that there's an easy fix for this. Like a minor change in a cfg file or something. I could do without that bright cockpit lamp altogether. Thanks!Heather

I don't have the DC3 yet but if the vc lights are defined in the aircraft.cfg in the LIGHTS - Section, you can just comment the lines containing vc lights. The lines would look something like this:light.2 = 4, 13.50, -1.55, 2.284, fx_vclight,To comment them just put a double slash at the beginning, like:// light.2 = 4, 13.50, -1.55, 2.284, fx_vclight,Then you should be in a dark VC at night without having to switch off panel. If they are not defined in aircraft.cfg, then no idea how to get rid of them, might involve change in the model. If you modify aircraft.cfg then better make a backup copy before and use NOTEPAD for this modification, well can't be done in FSEdit anyways since lights can't be defined there.Best RegardsDoc
