November 9, 2025Nov 9 Clerance gives me RWY 14 for TO then when asking for taxi GRND tells me to taxi to 32. I did ask for taxi to RWY 14. Some times it switches between L and R. Eg Clerance 18L then GRND 18R. So it seems like Clerance does not give GRND what RWY for TO Per W Sweden Programmer since 30+ years (now retired) and a avid flightsimmer since SubLogic on Vic64. November 11, 2025Nov 11 This appears to be an example of the Virtual World (game) not completely mimicking the Real World. Clearance Delivery does not assign a runway, although they may give a heading to fly after takeoff. An ATC clearance is for the enroute portion of your flight. Ground/Tower will assign the takeoff runway and taxiways to get to that runway. A change from L to R runway may be due to traffic flow with an arriving aircraft. Switching from Rwy 14 to Rwy 32 makes no sense in real aviation unless there was a frontal passage with significant change in wind direction. Again, this may just be an anomaly of the sim. Explanation of ATC Clearances follow: https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/atpubs/aim_html/chap4_section_4.html

November 27, 2025Nov 27 Commercial Member The "expect runway xxx" in the clearance is not an assignment, but rather an advisory. However, there does seem to be a possibility for that to be incorrect. I'll try and get it to match the actual assigned runway you'll get for takeoff in all cases, except where a dramatic wind shift occurs and the runway actually changes.
